I will admit overpopulation was a bad example. However, there are many issues stemming from meat production. A large one being the environmental impact; this alone should change a persons views on the production of meat.

Not mine. I'm actually studying this topic right now in college and it hasn't changed my mind at all. the only thing i would like to be changed is what is being fed to cows.

Mythical Group

There is no greater catharsis than arguing on the Flood.

Ya, who cares about overpopulation and world-wide food shortages in the near future due to production of meat.
Overpopulation is not something developed countries have to realistically worry about. Their average age is actually getting older. The main reason the US still has a growing population is because of immigration. I will grant you there are a couple issues that will be coming upon us, a lot of it having to do with healthcare, but I'm sure we will fix them at some point.

Suffice to say, something about the nature of life in a developed country counters the idea of overpopulation being possible.

Is this what happens when a scientifically illiterate person reads a study?

What? The article is about cooking food? You crazay!

Ignore it, he's just trying to stir up a major argument, yet again.

The title is misleading though, which I believe is his point.

Clever word placement and usage makes you think that. Trust me, he's trying to get a rise of someone so he can argue about it.

No argument, just find the conclusions reached based on the source study pretty funny. Study shows how caloric efficiency changed our brains. To assume that has any bearing on our pampered lifestyles today, and then go on rants about lifestyle superiority because people think their flawed understanding of the data supports their viewpoint is funny.

Because growing fruit and veggies has zero impact on the environment...

I just simply do not care.

I'll eat what I eat.
You'll eat what you eat.

Why should anyone care??
Why should we care about anything? Why do I care about money? Who am I? What am I? WHERE AM I?
You don't see anything wrong with people being way too overly concerned with what OTHER people eat?

What other people eat matters a great deal to our health care people, our food scientists, our economists, our agricultural workers, our government. our lobbyists, etc.

Every time you use a debit card or a store membership card, the food you buy is stored in a database so it can be sold to marketing agencies. What you eat is important enough that people will pay money to know.

Yeah Winter.. it's coming.

I love The Flood. It's my go to place for relaxation. If anyone needs me, then I'll be there.

I like this thread.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I think of it as kind of wasteful to have livestock animals, and then never eat of them. They're there, why do you hate eating them?
