Subject: Getting Over A Death?

So, my 2nd cousin died this most recent Thanksgiving. His funeral was yesterday, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. Not to mention "How To Save A Life" by The Fray has been stuck in my head for the past week, that's not helping. I'm not sure what to do. I've been playing games to try to keep my mind off it, but it always wanders back and I can't help but tear up. I missed school today because I couldn't stand going back, and I'm not sure about tomorrow either.

I'm looking for some help, guidance, advice, whatever you want to call it. Thanks.

He doesn't care that he's dead. So why do you? Helps me

  • 11.28.2012 2:08 PM PDT

Just give it time. Spend time with others and stay active to keep your mind off it. Time heals all wounds. Trust me.

Talk to your family and real life friends, not the Flood. the very first response to your thread OP, proves what I just stated.

@Vinyl_Hb

Time heals all wounds.

Even though it is the one thing that will inevitably kill you... it heals all wounds.

Just think to yourself, "everyone dies" or "It was his time"

It means you have basic human sympathy.

I have been, and it's worked for a period of time. I'm just looking for more ideas/options.

I would, but he was only 26. Died of an unknown brain injury the night before.

KillaGod is my alternate Bungie.net account with my Gamertag linked to that account!

Ty92PrideFireZ is my new alternate account with my new and permanent Gamertag linked to that account.

This. There nothing much more valuable than time.

I have to agree it doesn't help much when they die young. When they die old it does.

  • 11.28.2012 2:12 PM PDT

I feel you. My uncle just died yesterday.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

Reminds me of a friend that I stopped contact with after going to school. Died overnight. I dont know the reason, but im sure other friends know. Dont bother asking since its been like 2 years. Youll get over it. Over time.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

Time.

That is what you need.

Talk to family members and talk to friends.

What doesn't kill you, only makes you stranger

When my best friend committed suicide, I was at school the next day. Not because I'm a heartless Bastard, (Even though sometimes I might be) but because I realized that with all the good people around me, why be sad? With all the memories I had with him, why should I dwell on this bad one? Yeah, it hurts, but you still have a family that you can talk to about it. You still have friends that can be there for you. The world isn't over for you.

Don't remember the bad times, enjoy the good memories.

This. Just take it one day at a time bro. Talk with family and friends, and just take baby steps.

Everyone grieves. It's normal.

  • 11.28.2012 2:18 PM PDT

Now let's get down to business, I don't got no time to play around, what is this?

Don't be ashamed to cry about it or anything, deal with the grief however you want to, then you can move on. Don't keep putting it aside, face it.

It was then that I decided he really is like semen(everywhere) and I gave up on life.

Write.

Talk about it.

There's nothing wrong with mourning.
You'll never fully get over a loss of a loved one. It was really recent as well. Takes time to get back on track but it does get easier. You'll probably always have moments where you think about them or cry. It's okay.

Any PM's (about my armor) sent over Bungie.net or Friend Requests (for my armor) over Live will be unanswered/declined. Sorry! All you need to know is that I was given my armor because I fulfilled one of the secret requirements for Bungie Day 09. I am a pre-owner of Recon!
