If the universe is forever expanding, how could the Halos whipe out everything in it?

The story of Halo does not take into consideration the many theorys on the universe, making it limited and easily prooved wrong.. but if they did consider these options then there is no specific placement for the Halos, it doesnt matter where they are put because they are just powerful enough to whipe everything out not matter how large the universe is.

Nowhere in the books or games does it say it wipes out life in the universe, it always says galaxy. And since when is halo realistic anyways?

EDIT: Well you keep hearing wrong, read the books. Also anyone who disagrees, show me a quote either from the games or books, stating it indeed says universe.

Many people have said universe, i guess it was simple misunderstanding. I could show you a quote from the forum, but i do not read the books, i play the games, but i havent in a while. I have no more money to afford books, and not enough patience at this point in my life to read hundreds of pages.

Maybe the Ark is a ship (like noahs arc) that can carrey a civilization to a different galaxy.

heh.

Galaxies move, but what is in them doesn't.

You only need to play the games to understand that Halo wipes out life in this galaxy. It says nothing about the universe

You have no idea how this ring works, do you? Why the forerunners built it? Halo doesn't kill flood, it kills their food. Humans, covenant, whatever. We're all equally edible. The only way to stop the flood is to starve them to death. And that's exactly what Halo is designed to do; wipe the galaxy clean of all sentient life. You don't believe me? Ask him.

pauses) More or less. Technically, this installation's pulse has a maximum effective radius of twenty-five thousand light years. But, once the others follow suit, this galaxy will be quite devoid of life, or at least any life with sufficient biomass to sustain the flood. (pause) But you already knew that. I mean, how couldn't you?

After exhausting every other strategic option, my creators activated the rings. They, and all additional sentient life in three radii of the galactic center, died ...as planned.
