Subject: I need some computer help guys.

Right now i'm trying to connect my dad's pc to his hdtv (wired), so he can put vids from his pc on the big screen. The pc has windows vista. The pc has a hdmi slot as well as the tv(has 4)(just bought a new hdmi cord today). I've followed all sorts of directions, but they have all lead me to the last step, in which i cannot complete. One of the options tells me to go to graphics properties, then to display devices, then to change operating mode from single to multiple. The problem is for all my steps so far is either that the option is not there in the drop box or there is a box i need to check, but it won't let me. Any help would be appreciated.

Nope. Windows Vista actually gets better performance than XP now, thanks to Service pack 2, and really wasn't that bad in the first place, in my opinion. It's always worked fine for me.

Try start menu -> type displayswitch.exe -> enter

Windows + P might've been introduced in Win 7, but I can't remember.

Can you tell me the exact steps you've tried?

You may need to play around with your graphics card's settings along with Windows' display properties.
