"You are the last of your kind: bred for combat, built for war. You're the master of any weapon, pilot of any vehicle, and fear no enemy"

I have a hard time believing it's population diminished as quickly as Halo 4's.

Check it out.. 135,000 peak? It hasn't even been a month. At this point, my personal opinion doesn't mean anything. But this game's been a flop, nonetheless. I have a feeling Reach population will go up. I doubt it will surpass Halo 4, but they'll next to each other on the activity counter.

*shrug*
Kids'll hate on every new popular game that comes along, or make ridiculous statements about how a game is 'dead' and such. The threads are coming up now, the threads came up with Halo: Reach, the threads came up with Halo 3. It happens.

  • 11.28.2012 4:37 PM PDT

Since this thread pops up with every game released, perhaps we should start writing down Halo 4's population day by day so that when Halo 5 comes out we won't need to make this thread?

:)

  • 11.28.2012 4:39 PM PDT

I remember Reach peaking at over 100,000 for at least 6 months, probably more.

  • 11.28.2012 4:41 PM PDT

I'm glad the population is low, the only remaining people are actual dedicated Halo fans. The community as a whole is better.

Cod, however, consists of kids under the age of 10 screeching into the microphone about their kill death ratio.

I'd say keep the kids, we don't need em.

Recon Number 54 -
If they are still looking, then while holding the snarl, I let drool start to drip from my mouth, I stand, curl my fingers into claws and with a hunched over crouch, I then make slow and deliberate steps towards them. When I get close enough, I let them hear my agonized and gasping growls and then, if they continue to stare, when I get within arm's reach? I kiss them on the nose, and run away giggling.

It isn't dead it just has some good competition this year. It would have been worse last year though with Skyrim and BF3 and MW3.

If they had released it in September, the population would be much higher.

Does this mean people don't care about Halo as much anymore? That it isn't the revolutionary multiplayer powerhouse that it was 6 years ago?

Actually it's not a good thing it's low.

Cod, however, consists of kids under the age of 10 screeching into the microphone about their kill death ratio.
Just like Halo. By the way every online game out there has kids screeching into the mic about something.

LOL at the rate Bnet measures Halo's population decline Halo 5 will have only 10 players.

Or, alternatively, all the retarded population threads in the last 5 years are wrong.

el oh el

Considering how much it was hyped and how many copies it sold, having 135k at peak hours is a flop, plus the numbers have been dropping since the day it came out.

But flop or not I can still find a game and have fun playing it.

They probably got tired of the series. After a while doing the same thing over and over again. Gets boring, repetitive and stale. 343 really tried nothing new playlist wise for the game. Bungie had something going with the Sabers space combat in Halo Reach. Did 343 take advantage of that for a playlist? No they didn't. They just did a boring space flight in the campaign.

The other turn off for the game are the maps. It has no map rotation at all.

ive played my fair share of CoD in the past few years and i can honestly say that most of the time i hear older people on the mic more than little kids.

now for the topic at hand, people can beat around the bush all they want, theres a reason the population is so low. make all the excuses you want, you cannot deny the truth.

also,i wouldnt go as far as saying its a "flop",i just think people(including myself)thought it would be much bigger than it turned out to be as far as population goes.

Yeah right Reach sucked people are going to abandon Halo altogether. It went from being an equal ground arena shooter to a variable filled crap fest.

Halo 4 is definitely better than Reach but I don't like where Halo is going.

Yet again, people are ignoring (or are ignorant of) the fact that Halo 4 is the first Halo game to count only those playing Matchmaking, whereas previous Halo games counted everyone, in every gamemode.

So it's more likely there are 180,000-200,000 people playing Halo 4. And that should increase at Christmas.

It doesn't matter if it's the second most played game on XBL. It lost more than half its population withing about 3 weeks. From the 16th-till now the population kept getting lower and lower. If this keeps up the only hope for this game is Christmas.
