Should the United States wage war against foreign leaders who oppress their people?

On my evidence part, I need to list my WEAKEST evidence point, since I am against it. And I am having a hard time finding any evidence in history. Could someone please help?

I Love Lamp. And Ender's Game. Don't tell Lamp.

You know what the United States should do!? Nuke the oppressed citizens! That'll give the leaders no one to oppress, and they'll be left powerless!

Yes, and the reasoning is simply because we have guns.

Hasn't that always been our reasoning for everything?

Unto the Fray we go

I do not believe the US should attack those who oppress their people. We should stay out of those affairs unless they attempt to attack us directly.

Such action is imperialistic in my eyes. What may seem as oppressive to us may not be oppressive to them, and we would be pressuring our views onto those people.

It's more along the lines of because we can commit warfare.

There's also religion and general politics.

"We don't believe in what you believe in and think what you're doing is bad, and therefore, since we have guns and missiles, we're gonna jam our heads into your business and do something about it."

It's that kind of thinking that's gotten us in wars before, simply because the United States believes it's the world police.
