I must admit, for the first time ever, that I've given up on Halo. At least for a while.

There's just no incentive and no challenge and no balance.


I mostly play now just for the sake of Halo. Its all chaos and overwhelming randomness right now.

I dont think its me either. I have like a 1.7 kd which is better than what I did in Reach.


I just don't have the time to waste it on a bad game, thats what it comes down to for me. There are better things I can do with my free time.

Heck I was ok with Reach being a bit messed up, I got over that and had a lot of fun. I just don't get even the same feeling as Reach from H4.

Agreed. Theres no real way to prepare for anything. If you even think about changing your loadout you will be blindsided by five people with DMRs

Kill times don't work with the pace of the gameplay. You get killed by 5 guys, when you're trying to kill one guy. It's ridiculous. I wanted to like this game, but I can't.

It totally goes against the skill in halo in reach you could at least crouch spam the dmr in h4 you can't dO anything about someone getting a better ordnance. No ranked playlist either arena was bad but at least they had one off of the start.


They could easily remove ordinances, loadouts, add ranks (which they have stated they will), add actually good forged maps, and fix a number of other problems quite easily and throw it into a classic playlist. That is my best case scenario; and if it doesn't happen then I will just find a better game to play and barely ever put halo 4 into my disk tray again.

Boltshot... INSTA KILL.

Make it even worse lag would also extend (or decrease) the kill range.

I played swat the other day, could barely tell the difference between halo 4 and 3.

Under all the gimmicks, halo 4's a pretty damn good game. And with the gimmicks, it's still a lot better then Reach.

The lag is atrocious for Halo 4, that's my biggest gripe with it. I can spend entire matches getting shot through walls, or killed by people who aren't even aiming at me in the killcams while they soak up bullets like a sponge. And the thing about it? Not my connection. I can play any other game with little to no real lag, but as soon as I get on Halo 4? NOPE.


The fault is on your end, not theirs.
That's the thing, it's really not. I check my connection, I make sure it's working properly, and on any other game it will be, but not on that one. No matter how well it's running, there'll always be at least one match or two where some bulls**t like that happens.


I had to change my NAT settings for Halo Reach, have you done that? Also, have you lightened the restrictions of your firewall?

I agree that under all the gimmicks H4 has great core gameplay, but I disagree that H4 (as it is right now) is better than Reach.

For starters Reach has working menus, Forge, custom games and maps that don't promote such horrid killboxes. And ammo on maps.

Personally I think the only thing that H4 has over Reach is its core gameplay is better. Everything else is either a little or massively inferior to Reach.

I mainly play swat and dominion right now so the gimmicks don't even effect me that much.

Considering most of Halo 4's (MM) problems can be fixed with a TU, i'll wait to pass my final judgement until then, i mean everyone loves halo 2 here but hated it pre TU.

I dont either. I dont sprint and all my loadouts besides defender have no armor abilities at all (and Im kicking ass doing it).
And I really dont have to counter BS users either, Ive already outskilled them.

I test this stuff. BS pistol is very good (especially in the hands of me).

Armor lock: wait five seconds until you can continue playing the game

Boltshot: walk backwards while shooting, game is still playing this whole time

Putting that aside, i really hate how the boltshot can deflect rockets, grenades, lazers, any other power weapons, and can destroy vehicles like ghosts instantly and emp every other vehicles.

As much as I loved Halo 3 and all of the good times on it I agree with you. As of right now I am having more memorable memories that have been made right now in Halo 4 than I ever did with Reach even though I still liked it.

Well.. Back to Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Halo CEA, and Gears of War 3. And the first three Halos. Gaming industry has gone to -blam!-. Hell, I played Halo 4 for a week, now I'd rather play Fallout 3 than Halo 4. In fact that's what I have been doing.
Anyway, Halo 4 is a good, fun game... With no replay value. It's not competitive in any shape or form though, which is where your diehard, MLG, fans will come from. Halo's competitive community has been told to -blam!- themselves, it happened in Reach, but Reach had about 3 problems (in multiplayer at least), Halo 4 has many, many... Many more.

reach stayed true to competetive halo. Halo 4 is entirely different. You could be amazing at reach and three because of skill. Halo 4 no such quality exists.

WHY DOES A SUPER SOLDIER NEED TO SPRINT???

Shouldn't he always be running at the optimal speed? He gets fatigues in like 100 yards. Come on! And he puts his gun down when he sprints? He can shoot a rocket launcher with zero recoil, but has to put his gun down to sprint????

Sprint to me is one of the worst additions to a fun, fast-paced game that I have ever encountered. Total CoD addition, and it is terrible.
