Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I am ashamed that the USA is not even in the top 10.

It pisses me off that we are getting dumber as a nation, while politicians attack teachers because the teachers can't fight back.

To be honest, I'm not surprised. I'm also not surprised that the US isn't on the top ten.

Our higher education system is kind of a joke. You spend four years pursuing a Bachelor's, which at least a year is for classes completely unrelated to your major. I can understand this route if you enter college "undecided", but those who have a field of study should dive right in.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

I do love how america isn't on that list.

Good teachers are essential to high-quality education. Finding and retaining them is not necessarily a question of high pay. Instead, teachers need to be treated as the valuable professionals they are, not as technicians in a huge, educational machine.
Thats our problem then. All our teachers either suck or/and are treated like -blam!- by pupils.

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle- victorious"

That list doesn't surprise me at all.

Honestly, I'm not surprised that the U.S. isn't up there. A lot of dumb people in this country. A lot...

Having spent several years in the UK education system, I'm surprised it's managed to creep into the top half.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

Very surprised.

I read an article a long time ago about Finland's education system.

Pretty neat stuff.

Obviously the wrong one since they're one of the wealthiest nations in Asia. Very strong military, it's a very clean and beautiful city, and it's the largest trade hub in south east asia.

One series of campuses doesn't make the entire education system. If it makes you feel better we already have schools that do this here :).

As a taxpayer, this really disgusts me. We shouldn't be spending money on iPads when there are other issues to handle.

Your country spends millions on a worthless war a day and your worried about iPads when it comes to tax payers money.

Those taxes come from different places. Public schools are funded by property taxes and dictated by the state. Wars are funded by federal income taxes and are dictated by the federal government.

Such as?
Student:teacher ratios, teacher pay [especially for special ed teachers], building maintenance, etc. The entire public school model needs reform. Tossing iPads into an already broken classroom wont fix anything.

I was being sarcastic hence the end sarcasm tag (/s). I'm against iPads in classrooms. The US has been trying to integrate crap like that for the last twenty five years and we still lag behind the rest of the world.

You're entirely right. Unfortunately, I can't tell them where I want my money to go; such is the case with all taxes. If I could have diverted my taxes that went to our useless wars into something more beneficial for the American people, I assure you I would.
