Yup

"You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space." -Johnny Cash

As long as they're actually in new maps instead of the multiplayer or the campaign maps, I would be fine with payiong for a Spartan Ops Season 2.

Yes, I love Spartan Ops, so much better than firefight.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

I'd consider it if the horrific lag were fixed, because I'm quite content to play the episodes alone, even if that means I can't use the Warthogs and get horrifically overwhelmed by the enormous number of enemies.

But with a (thus far) lacklustre story and unremarkable original settings (I don't have a huge problem with playing Campaign or MP maps again, as long as they're used in interesting new ways), it's looking pretty dull.

  • 11.29.2012 3:56 AM PDT

I hate MLP. It is cancerous and pretty stupid to see men watching a show for girls. They can deny the truth but the truth shall prevail!

"I will not fail even if I must sacrifice my life." - Siegfried

Yea, I'd buy the next season.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

Y'all realize that there's about three or so people that do Spartan Ops, right? That means they're probably doing everything by themselves and have a big task to complete in just week. It's much easier to use existing spaces rather then making completely no ones. I also recall fr a ViDoc that they have a lot restrictions with space and for Spartan Ops.

I'll be purchasing the nest season because it's more fun than lolfirefight.

Nope; S1 was way too repetative, doubt S2 will be any better.

The best thing I can say about Spartan Ops is...Palmer has got some nice tits.

That is all.
How can you tell?

She's always got her armor on, only time I've seen her without it is the first cinematic and I don't think that that was enough to judge the quality of her tits.

Speaking of chuckles, let's all lol at IonicPaul, who makes friends with bugs to make up for his lack of human contact.

If it had new maps that aren't reused from other parts of the game, then maybe.

Hell no, thats the laziest excuse of a game mode ive ever seen, they didn't even remotely try in any way shape or form

It's not as bad as to have it removed completely out of the game, but it doesn't even come close to the two iterations of Firefight we've seen thus far, at least in my opinion.

Well it doesn't have to be removed, but I wish they at least gave some effort, for some of the reasons posted

Like reused campaign and multiplayer maps over and over again, then with that its the horrid lag, sometimes when I press the trigger it takes over a second for it to shoot, same with moving and jumping, so I dont even know what im doing.

Then they didn't even optimize it correctly so it could even withstand framerate drop, which happens frequently, youd think they'd have that fixed before they actually released the game

Halo 4 was poorly rushed in order to release before Black Ops 2. It's plain obvious the game wasn't finished, and it still lacks the File Browser functionality up to this day.

The lag in Spartan Ops is unbearable, whereas in Reach it was at least tolerable every 3 games or so, since you could easily get host in Doubles.

The game was in development for 4 years, hardly rushed. You can invent fantasies to rationalize your whining about things you personally can't accept all you want, it's still whining.

OT: Probably. Season 1 was a test of the capabilities of the aging Box and of the idea in general, since no one's done this before. The map reusage can get repetitive, but that's my only real qualm with it. It's been getting consistently better every episode since the season began.

I <3 Halo:Reach - amazingly fun and best campaign + amazing Soundtrack
I <3 Halo 3:ODST - best soundtrack + Firefight + Coastal Highway and Mombassa Streets, amazingly unique campaign.
I <3 Halo 3 - best multiplayer levels + Forge + best Custom Games + soundtrack
I <3 Halo 2 - amazing huge fun campaign + soundtrack + Fun multiplayer
I <3 Halo: CE - started it all

Reading these comments makes me realize how ignorant and stupid you guys are.

2013 ADFA Officer Cadet of the RAAF (Aerospace Engineer Electronics Officer).

Maybe; I like it for the episodes, but otherwise it is quite repetitive. If it weren't for YouTube, etc, I would buy it for that.

You're like a slinky. Good for nothing, but you bring a smile to my face when I push you down the stairs.

I'll buy season two, but if it sucks I'll just watch all of the episodes after that on youtube.

Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…

Its really not worth it so far, except for extra XP

hmm

Lol no, unless it suddenly became fun.

I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

LOL. I might has well flush that money down the toilet.
-Every chapter reuses the same maps. 3 out of the 5 maps in chapter 2 are maps from chapter 1.

-The objectives have no purpose and are repetitive. I activate something and get spammed by hordes of enemies. The last level of the newest chapter was just horrible. You were just getting spammed by enemies the entire level. I kill some enemies then a Phantom comes in and drops more off.

-There is no penitently for dying or failing an objective. I can die 100 times and still complete the level. You had a level where you had to rescue some marines. Everyone of them dies but I completed it.

This person over at Waypoint made good points about it.

I've been waiting for Episode 2 to come out so I could form a more informed opinion on this. So here we go.

Spartan Ops is near boring for me. No, I don't think Spartan Ops is bad, by any stretch of the imagination. I mean, I love Halo 4, I just have a few gripes that are seriously harming my enjoyment of the cooperative experience.

- CGI EPisodes
The weekly CGI episodes center around somewhat annoying characters that have nothing to do with what's going on in the gameplay portion of Spartan Ops. This sort of ruins the immersion because I feel like nothing I do in these chapters is effecting the actual episode.

- Uninspired Voice Acting & Banter
It seems to me like the voice actors that talk while you are playing are simply bored and completely disinterested in what you are doing. Not to mention the "radio transmission" effect makes them sound monotone and quiet. This is yet another thing that makes me feel like my actions are unimportant.

- Pointless Objectives & Continuous Flooding of Enemies
I love the objective based style that Spartan Ops was going for, but it seems that whenever I push a button all it does is make another wave of enemies spawn. The entire reason I was excited for Spartan Ops was the fact that it was going to differ from Firefight's wave after wave of enemies formula. However, it seems that we are simply getting a rehash of that with less features.

- Recycled Environments & Reverse Missions
I'm not quite understanding why environments were recycled from the Campaign to use in a different mode. It makes me feel like I'm playing nothing new and that I might as well play the Campaign variant because it's more engaging. What further adds to my puzzlement is the fact that some new environments actually are introduced into Spartan Ops. So why not just go full steam with this instead of making only a couple new environments? Reverse missions are also irritating. They once again make me feel like I'm doing the same thing, but for a third time. You could at the very least make small changes to the scenery to make it clear that time has passed since your last visit.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of Spartan Ops, I just find these things a major hindrance to it's enjoyment. I just hope you take these things into account while working on the end of Season 1 and the possible development of Season 2.

I'm looking forward to more episodes!

I haven't even finished Episode 2. There is very little, if any, chance I'll buy a Spartan Ops season.

Yes.

Only if they make new maps for it.

  • 11.29.2012 5:36 AM PDT

I only really play Spartan Ops for the cinematic cutscenes, the gameplay is as boring and repetitive as Firefight from Reach. If I wanted to see the continuation of the story, I'd either read about it or watch the cutscenes somewhere online.

  • 11.29.2012 5:44 AM PDT

How can they shrug off 500 bullets?

No way whatsoever, lack luster story with reused maps from campaign and multiplayer.

  • 11.29.2012 5:48 AM PDT

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

No.

I just want to throw this out here. Two of the levels are custom games maps. Which means they had friendly and enemy AI on them. I'm sure they're going to give us some half ass reason why we can't have AI on custom maps.
