I personally think the majority of leaks are intentional.

I doubt the leak was intentional.

I don't think a few pieces of concept art are the best way to announce a game.

Bungie has been legitimately leaked before (Reach). But I have no doubts that Destiny's leak was deliberate; kind of conveniant that 13 images are "leaked" online at about the exact same time an official concept art piece is revealed on their site.

...

They released the concept art here because of the leak.

This ^

People have to understand that Bungie isn't working alone, or with just 1 company here; in marketing and publishing, you're working with multiple companies on multiple layers. Imagine if you, yes you, were working at a publishing firm as an intern, when you get given a folder to deliver, with an address from Bungie on it. What's say you open it to take a look, and find a heap of artwork of something completely non-Halo related, and epic looking.

Would you personally put the photos away and deliver them like you're expected to?

Personally, I'd take some photos first.

No, i disagree with you, you're talking about companies on multiple layers Okay, but as a develloper/publisher it's your job to be sure you're working with reliable person. So this is why you have the non-disclosure agreement, why did it work with the 7 lucky people from operation One of the 7 ?

It the same thing in cinema industry. i remember back in 2005 when James Cameron officialy announced he was working on "Project 880" wich was Avatar, he stay silent with WETA and all of his partners during 4 years ! we got nothing during those 4 years, nothing leaked and there was more than 1700 people involved in it. June 2009 he "finally" release one or two concept-art, in August 21 2009 "Avatar day" (15 min of screen-test for regular audience) and December 2009 the movie itself. We all know rest of the story.

Guess what, i'm sure it's harder to keep anything secret from a movie like Avatar than Destiny wich is created by 300 artist plus an "advertising company"...
