Hey OP, have you ever considered he was overweight because of his disability? No?
And to the guy saying he should have provided a "medical certificate"...no...people with disabilities don't need to carry documentation around just to validate public concessions like being given a seat.
Either take that statement back or agree that all fat people can use disability seating whenever they feel like it, despite the vast majority of them not having a medical reason for their bulk and simply being really lazy and taking no care of their bodies. Your choice.
Yes, clearly those are the only two options. If that's the case, then I choose to give up my seat. I'd give up my seat if anyone asked. I take public transit daily and I almost always stand because things like seats on a bus are such a trivial issue. There is no way for OP to know if the man actually had a disability, but it is remarkably uncommon for someone to lie directly to another person's face like that, and he should've just been a gentleman and given it up; instead, he got kicked off. Clearly there was a correct decision here.
By the way, obesity is considered a disability by the government. But please, continue to look down on people because of their weight. That's much better than just being a nice person.
Damn right I'll look down on anybody who's so disgustingly lazy they can't resist shoving their fat face with food and then expect to get preferential treatment.
Oh, and LAWL @ you saying it's uncommon to lie about having a disability. Do you actually live on this planet?
While I disagree with the attitude, I agree with the basis of the point.
MOST obese people are obese through their lifestyle choices. As such, my lifestyle choice is not to give them my seat if I'm there. Obesity because you eat too much isn't a disability, no matter what governments say. Do you believe everything your government tells you?
There are a few people who have genuine disorders, fine. Pregnant women are pregnant (and a whole can of worms in itself, that one) and yes, giving up my seat makes sense and I do so without fail. Same for OAPs. But you REALLY like KFC/McDonalds? No, you can stand.
