You know most people that are fat are fat because their parents were fat and the gene was just passed on.

Please.

They are fat because they eat unhealthy. Their children are fat because the parents eat unhealthy so, in turn, they also eat unhealthy. That "genes" -blam!- is garbage and just a lie to make fat people feel better about themselves.

Second, being fat is not a disability. If being fat was a disability, that more than half of all Americans would qualify. If I were asked by a fat person to relieve my seat so they can sit down, I wouldn't have it. At that point, I wouldn't care if I was thrown off the bus.

If you have trouble standing, for whatever reason, then you can use the disability seats.

You don't know what condition caused their obesity, and there are a lot of them. You can be a smug, self righteous prick all you want, but that doesn't change that "put down the fork" is often times not a solution for an obese person. It's not your place to look at people and just assume "Oh, I know what's wrong with them better than they themselves do. I'm going to assume the worst about them based on their appearance and treat them rudely because of it."

What made you jump from fat to depressed?
Because clinical depression is a mental illness that is widely misinterpreted and that the reaction from a normal (jerk) person would be "man up you whiny little -blam!-".

Obesity and clinical depression are similar in that regard.

Sadly it's pretty hard to determine if someone's clinically depressed, so probably not, in answer to your question.

With a fatty, it's a 100% certainty.
Oh, I forgot you're a statistical expert.

disability is not the point for me. I don't have time or the ability to judge their life decisions. Who the hell thinks that they are empowered to be so high and mighty?

Who needs the seat more?

That person should get it and the person who stands should be an adult and not feel like a victim themselves.

"I am entitled to this more than that other person because the other person made bad choices?" Over a bus seat? OMG, people are seriously this damaged and petty?

Sorry we're not all as righteous as you.

If I want to sit in the seat I'm in then that's what I'm going to do.

Who are you to judge me?

Yes he does.

It's called eating too much and not exercising.

What?

You can get over obesity by exercising. Depression doesn't work that way.
Obesity doesn't always work that way either.

I see what I see. I judge based on what I see. Clearly I am doing the same thing as you, but in my eyes, YOU lose. At simply being a humane human being.

It's a seat. On a bus. Not a throne. Not a prize. It wasn't yours when you sat in it, it won't be yours when you get off at your stop. You're on the bus to ride. How much does it really COST you to be decent to other people while you are forced to be confined with them?

Show me a fat person that can't lose weight. And I'll show you a fat person who isn't trying hard enough.

On the Left

Godshatter: I can go all the way with someone without being attracted to them.
CamCamm: How does that work?
Godshatter: I'm easily aroused by anything that moves. It's a curse.
Brain says 'No, that's ugly', body says 'ugly is fine with me'.

Were you sitting on those "Reserved for disabled ppl" seats? If so then maybe you were at fault.

If not then that sucks bro. Good you didnt give in.

"Putting down the fork" is coupled with "go exercise". Those two put together make a pretty good solution to an obesity problem.

And I do know what's wrong with them. I was a fat kid in middle school. Then I got my -blam!- together, did track, ate less, and went to the gym. Now, I'm muscular and pretty athletic at 168Ibs, 5'10". Granted, it's easier to lose weight when you're a child, but the principles are still the same. Stop eating and go exercise.

I wanna become morbidly obese just to piss guys like this off. My belly jiggling with glee as chicken grease drips from my chin.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

There is a 0% chance that I would give up my seat to a fat person on a bus. ESPECIALLY if he said he had a "disability."

I would laugh in his face and continue what I was doing.

deserves is not the same as needed.

Being polite to people who need is (once more, for those who haven't heard the term nearly enough) common courtesy.

"Deserve" requires that you judge someone, what you think they did, whether it's good or bad that they are how they are... all of those wonderful judgmental things.

A need can simply be identified. Does someone need the seat on the bus more than me? If yes, offer it, if no, then don't.

Gravity weakens the body, and the body atrophies naturally over time, it's been proven. Gravity doesn't make you fat. Lack of exercise and a healthy lifestyle makes you fat. I will not pity someone who doesn't take care of their body.

No one gives a flying -blam!- about your pity. How you feel is irrelevant entirely.

It's that at the time, one person needs the seat more than the other person.

One of the leading causes of paralysis in children is diving into shallow water. If, for example, you overheard a guy in a wheelchair had done exactly that, would you refuse to give him your seat because he "didn't use good judgement"? What about someone who was paralyzed because he was riding a bike without a helmet? A veteran disabled by an IED? Well, he should have been a bit faster, now shouldn't he have?

Like I said, are we going to just assume the worst about everyone and then act accordingly? Why are we singling out one group here?

It's a bus policy for those seats to be reserved for those who need them, and who needs them isn't your call, it's the bus drivers call. That fat person was just taking advantage of an existing policy, it's nothing personal.

What are you talking about?

All seats, or are there special ones for disabled people?

Either way, fat isn't a disability. It's a choice.
