Subject: 343i forums are being corrupted by casuals

Poll: 343i forums are being corrupted by casuals  [closed]
Casuals are taking over. :  67%

343i will improve. . :  33%

Total Votes: 24

I'm concerned about 343i's motivation to fix this game, when a thread title: ¨Why is Halo 4 so casual?¨ gets mostly ignorant comments like:

You Realy think its all about you isn't it? you think the game should only be made for Competitive cut throats who think its okay to treat someone how they want.
and think the game will survive without new players.

Do you believe that 343i is adapting to casuals?

... Games are FOR casual players. The 'competitive' players are the ones that are never happy with the way things are no matter how much is done in their favor.
:/

Chapter

Narwhallace Smithington: Gone, but not forgotten. Never approve of anything lil guy. <3
Furious George: The new -blam!-

The use of the word "casual" as a derogatory term is stupid.

I'm not discriminatory. I don't like any of you.

Hence "game" not "competition". Simple difference.

Halo and games in general went downhill after single players were half assed

Butt ugly ape” remarked Sergeant Johnson always making fun out of the situation even though he had been hit by a spiker round in the arm. He mustered up the strength to continue and the team moved on. The Arbiter informed him that the next room held The Prophet of Truth and this was the final room before extraction. Jun proposed that he takes a shot from a distance the prophet and they all head back to the ship bay for extraction. The team agreed on this and breached the last door…

But don't competitive players motivate developers to make the game better?

No one should ever be afraid of looking stupid, so long as they are making a rational effort to expand their understanding.

Oh NO. Casuals! Break out the disinfectant, the casuals are coming to play.

The real problem is the skill obsessed jackholes who take their MLG seriously, because videogames are very serious business.

There are many different types of gamers in this world, it is not bad to be a laid back uncompetitve one.

However, I will say this:

Games these days are designed for everyone. Call of Duty is a great example of that. Call of Duty does a fascinating job of making sure everybody and their grandmas dead cat can get that sick killstreak that they see on the internet.

Halo 4 is no exception. The ordinance drops are specifically for the people who always end up powerweaponless and can't get a multikill without such a weapon.

So you're a new player and maybe not as good as the others in the lobby? It's alright, we've got your back. Here's and incineration canon so that you can get that sick overkill without having to work for it.

Thats just the community the games cater to these days, and simply because people feel left out and don't want the game to feel like to much of a chore.

Exactly.

Quick as a razor, sharp as a bullet.

Because games can totally survive keeping their original fanbase and don't need to expand in order to stay interesting, increase their audience, or anything.

Grow up.

No, that would be sales. I think the last thing developers need is the self proclaimed competitive players telling them how to make the game "better".

EGO mos bulla astrum.

Stop with your competitive casual nonsense. Competitive players by the Flood's definition don't have the decency to stick around with the series they loved.

Now supposed casuals stay with the game because they don't care?

Just stop fronting. This is the new Halo community. The Flood needs to stop having a grudge over the fact games need to change and that they're definition of good is hipster levels at best.

I remember the time on BNet when a casual was someone who struggled to even get to 40 in H3 and had a -ve k/d to boot...

The gaming industry is suffering because of casual players.

  • 11.29.2012 6:20 AM PDT

Personally I don't see how anyone could care that much about a game to star calling people 'casuals' but that's just me

Nor could they define what competition is. It borders on the line of anyone who actually spent all their time trying to level up to Level 50 in Halo 3.

  • 11.29.2012 6:24 AM PDT

Well...

Based on recent visits and observations.

Those people there are really... adamant.
The game, which is frankly still very good (Campaign, Spartan Ops, maybe Multiplayer).. Has issues that they either A) refuse to acknowledge it B) Dont care C) Everything is okay.

Halo 4 has its good sides and the bad sides which falls deaf on the eyes. It could improve the experience not just for a certain group, but for everyone.

Changes like, theater for campaign fellas, nerf a few thngs (BS, DMR (this is very debatable), remove killcams, remove or fix JIP, more Custom options, etc..

They even denied for an option to disable Sprint. "AN OPTION because they think ITS FOR COMPETITIVE PLAYERS??? NOOOOO!!!!"
And they have the mind set, competitive=bad. Its not really for competitive..more options=better.

I find it hard to take anyone who calls people fanboys seriously when they are on an internet forum dedicated to their favourite game.
