Funny, but you would get crushed with that mentality. Having some kind of honor in a video game is just stupid/naive. If anything respect is used by casuals more than competitive players.

What ere cheap tactics? I mean hacking is one. But for the rest... Boltshot is not cheap. Armour lock was annoying but not cheap, just like jet pack.
THERE ARE NO CHEAP TACTICS!!! Everything put in a game is there to be used! Its not cheap, when you exploit certain tactics, it is GOOD, not bad. It means you can use more than just one thing.

Country: United States.
State: Pennsylvania.
County: Warren.
I graduated from high school on June-11-2011. I'm 19 right now. I'm turning 20 in December. I like playing video games, and board games. I like reading Sci-Fi, and World War II novels, and what not.

"There is nothing better in the world than being better at a video game than someone else....oh wait"

The people that play on consoles are even screwed harder because of it.

160 hours and counting, doing fine thanks.

Still doesn't change things like level scaling. On a PC you can download a mod that gets rid of it. You can't do anything about it on a console.

Exactly my point if everyone can do something then it isn't cheap. To say it is would be something that only a casual inexperienced person would say. If you want to win you don't hold back because something is viewed as "cheap." You use it to the best of your ability to lessen the chance in the other team winning.

Dear tomorrow, Find some sensibility, Respond to emotion.
Dear Politician, Define sagacity,
All chances of survival are beginning to diminish.
Comedy is no excuse for our own blasphemies.
Mass media, Mass pessimism, Mass Denial.
My television tells me to panic, but I don't think I'll listen.
The apathetic force us to persevere, with their backwards priorities.

Casual: One who does not play very often. Has a life. A gamer that might play to achieve victory, but recreation is prioritized. A gamer's level of casualness may or may not affect his skill. Presumably low rank because lack of playtime.

But there would be no competition if everyone used easy to use tactics.

Easy to use tactics like camping and such are mostly luck based and need no dedicated skill.

Opportunists can go to hell.

I presume it's somewhat of an illusive term. The 'casual gamer' to me, is the idea of someone who doesn't play to win. The quintessential 'casual gaming' console has got to be the wii, with it's wii sports and games that have no real story. Any game that doesn't require you to sit down and focus all the way through the story, to me, is what a casual game is. It's also relative. I think older games are somewhat more hardcore. Games today (more or less most of the fps genre) are a cake walk that rewards your short attention span by giving you checkpoints and rewarding your with achievements after exerting hardly any effort.

Ever played Dark Souls? I ask because, in my opinion, some go-hards are respectful and some of the go-hards are cheap.

So you think everybody should run into the battlefield like japanese kamikaze soldiers? Caming is a legit tactic. Just like rushing, jumping and other "cheap" tactics

If it's in the game, people can do it.

Lol camping. Please that is one of the worst things you can do in almost every game. Camping is essentially giving free reign of any map to the other team. Really the only time that doesn't hold true is when you are controlling the map and camping where the other team is going to spawn. For the most part camping isn't cheap it is an effective strategy if it is done right. Though most people like yourself think camping is where you just stay in a corner and wait for someone to go by and kill them. There is far more to camping than that simple low level style of play. As for cheap tactics being easy to use that mentality is asking to lose. Since essentially nobody other than yourself said that those weapons or tactics are restricted. Essentially you might as well play with one hand. Even with the "cheapest" tactics they still take some level of skill to master or understand and thus defend against if done to you. To ignore them and brush them off as cheap is making you a weaker player.

Been meaning to play that game for a while I just haven't had the time to do so. As for respect and being cheap that is all a matter of opinion on what you people should and shouldn't do in a game. Now you don't have to use "cheap" tactics to win, but don't complain if you lose because you didn't use them. Even then a win is a win it doesn't matter how one accomplishes that goal.

If you are not MLG like the rest of the Flood, then you are a casual.

Why think so black and white?

So, you want to hear a story eh? One about treasure hunters? Have I got a story for you!

Because people like you feed the ad carry and then we lose, and losing isn't fun. The whole point of playing games is to have fun, and winning is fun.

A casual player is someone that doesn't play with an honor code IMO.

It's the kind of player that either:

- Doesn't want to get better in a game;

- Doesn't want the most competitive settings;

- Doesn't respect his opponent by using cheap tactics;

- Doesn't provide factual feedback to the developer.

These are tbe ¨motivations¨ from the top of my head.
Oh boy, here we go again.

It's just a freaking video game.

Racism isn't wrong if it's funny.

Your mistake, OP, is taking what the 12 year old autistic squirrels are saying seriously. They're children. It's their job to have no lives and play video games all day.

We get revenge when they are suddenly and violently thrust into the real world and are scared -blam!-less until they're cowering and pissing themselves in the corner.

...man I took this serious.

I think the term casual literally means people who play games but don't consider it a hobby. because of this, they will only buy games like CoD, since there are a lot of people like this, CoD gets a lot of sales, which makes good franchises like Bf and ME to copy the tactic and dumb down the game to make it more accesible. The gamers who consider it a hobby and play everyday, see these 'casuals' as a group that is ruining their experience, because companies aren't delivering long expansive games single player games (Like skyrim) and are instead, taking control away from the player and adding unnesarasary multi-player (Like Mass effect 3).

This is what I think people mean when they say casual, and if it is the you are not a Casual Op, not that I care anyway because It's not exactly a bad thing to have a life.

Yep play for a few more years and then tell me how well that code holds up.

You guys are bad because you are ruining the game industry, simplifying games and making them too easy. Seriously, you barely die in most single player games anymore, and if you do, you're a casual.
