I fail to understand how being casual is bad.
Casuals play to have fun and don't take losses seriously.
Meanwhile, you have *those competitive players who put in 5+ hours a day, take The Game too seriously and rage when they lose, which is hilarious.
The Flood seems to hate both(and everything) either way. Saying that those competitive players who put in 5+ hours a day have no life and calling the casuals filthy casuals.
*Notice how I said those. Not all of them are like this.

Being a casual is seen as a bad thing because casuals usually aren't that good at playing video games since they play for fun. It's sort of stupid considering that you can be good at a video game when you play to have fun, but that's how casuals are viewed nonetheless.
So you're implying that competitive gamers don't have fun when they play games right? FUN is COMPLETELY universal and not subjective at all to each and every person? That there is only ONE type of fun and if you don't play for this kind of fun you aren't actually playing for fun right?
Ever thought that maybe, just maybe, competitive players have fun by playing......... COMPETITIVELY?!?! And that maybe, JUUUUST maybe what they find to be fun is... DIFFERENT then what other people find to be fun?!?! Shocking, I know.I guess you didn't notice my asterisk. I pretty much said not all competitive players devote their daily life to games or go agro on their TV when playing. There are those who play normally.
You might though seeing as how you aren't exactly calm at the moment.
Maybe it's just the caps lock.
I'm not angry, I use the caps lock for emphasis.
At any rate, what I'm disputing is not their habits, but whether competitive players have fun or not while playing video games. The undeniable truth is: they do. Yes, even the people who rage. Video games are a form of entertainment. That's what they're designed for and are primarily used for. The average gamer plays video games to be entertained (I'm talking about people who play games for themselves, not game reviewers, not game commentators, and not gold farmers).
The truth is, fun is subjective. It's not universal. What you might find fun I might not find fun. Competitive players do have fun, but in a different way than you do. They might gain enjoyment by scoring high in a competitive FPS or having the highest highscore among others. They may find difficulty and challenge and competition to be fun and interesting. All the raging and yelling and whatnot that some experience is just what happens in their pursuit of reaching their end goal which most of their fun, enjoyment, and satisfaction is derived from.
