It is possible to commit no errors and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life.

Cheeto is the only one among you that doesn't suck.

Is that not what Bungie is trying to do with this new game, if it is indeed an MMO of sorts? That kind of game is completely alien to most shooter players, even to players of games like fallout or borderlands. It's not as radical, maybe, but the concept of a straight up shooter in a massive online setting isn't exactly the bread and butter of your average console gamer.

You can't really expect to change the general FPS audience to switch over to organized, military-like behavior in a video game. Hell, World of Warcraft PVP with randoms is more organized even the most organized Big Team Battle game. They need to be eased into that mentality. That's why the idea of military-style Clans is so jarring and alien to most players because "lolyouretakingthisgametooseriously". That may be true but that kind of stuff is exactly how "clans" are run in most other genres.

I rambled a bit but my main point was: the concept was misguided and the developers overestimated the maturity of the average FPS gamer.©

I love Bungie and they're talented and passionate developers, but I have no idea why they made some of the decisions they made. I think my respect would go up for them simply if they would be more upfront about their thought process and admit to their mistakes.

Key

Adjusting to a new type of game is different from expecting 15 year olds to randomly become super mature about their FPSs. It's not so much the revolutionary thought as it is the maturity required to execute the new method of play that comes with the revolutionary thought.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

The Myth II mishap helped to create Halo, things happen for a reason I suppose.

"I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle- victorious"

My level of respect fluctuates. It usually depends on the desicions that Bungie makes as a developer. There's only one point in time where my respect for Bungie dipped. However, I can honestly say that my respect for Bungie has been earned.

They have developed a kick ass community and awesome games. These two points alone could earn my respect.

Кланяються мені!

I have always wondered if Halo Reach was a contract clause with Microsoft, like "We will let you be your own independent company but we want one more Halo title first." Bungie was very clear in there statement about not creating another Halo, yet it happened anyways.

Ugh...

First on a BWU.. yeah, I'm cool.

ODST;MYTHIC Screenshot winner! One of the first to get their hands on the mythic map pack.

My respect for Bungie has only increased in time. Yes, even after Reach. I actually found Reach to be very enjoyable.

It was. Microsoft mandated them to make two more Halo titles. ODST and Reach.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I clicked on this thinking it was going to be something positive, or at least semi-hopeful, then I read I giant paragraph complaining about Reach.
you need to remember that bungie doesn't have microsoft breathing down their backs anymore.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

343 introduced Zero Bloom playlists and altered bloom in many other playlists.

Posted by: Cheeto666
343 changed Reach's bloom? Or changed it for Halo 4?

I haven't played Reach since around the time Bungie handed it over to 343

Thank you.

Reach was the only Bungie game I did not like. ODST however, was fantastic to me. I think ODST stood out for me mainly because dat original score.

I've actually gained some, to be honest. The fact that they decided Halo was done for them is a plus for me.

My old Halo 2 account is Devil brothers

I respect the fact that they communicate with the fans so much, even during these dark times. I can't wait to get me some weekly updates again.
