Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.
I was under the impression that Egyptian judges were on strike (and as a result, courts would be closed) in protest of the President declaring that his actions cannot be appealed or overturned in the courts.
If they're protesting, how can a trial in absentia and a sentence come from the closed court?
The real outcome of this? That filmmaker, who is in jail in the US for violation of probation unrelated to his "film" will have to forget any planned trips to Egypt or anywhere that has an extradition agreement with Egypt.
