Have you ever been really shocked by something?

Example today whilst walking to computing with friends i hear a voice behind us saying "can you walk any slower?". Replying "can you walk any faster" without looking at him, he replies "lets see" and starts to force me to walk faster. I swing like thinking what the hell, am about to hit him when i realise it's a teacher.
Literally jumped when i saw it was a teacher i was about to hit.

So flood, ever done anything that makes you really shocked?

I hate MLP. It is cancerous and pretty stupid to see men watching a show for girls. They can deny the truth but the truth shall prevail!

Came in here to post a witty electrocution joke.

Realized I was far too late.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

6 years ago I was walking home from school.

The road I usually crossed was busy that day, and the average speed of each car was far too fast for me to cross over before the next car came along.

So I looked at the distance between each car and noted the longest gap between cars as my time to run across.

The only problem was that I couldn't see a red car behind the white van I intended to cross the road after once it passed. When I ran across the road after the white van, I remember seeing the bright red hood/bonnet of the car about 3 feet away from my legs and me jumping as high as I could to avoid being hit.

Thankfully, I didn't get hit by the car. And as I landed on the path between the two lanes the red car's driver hit the brakes and swore at me before driving off.

I began to cry due to the shock I received of nearly getting hit by a fast-moving car.
Ever since then I have pre-empted getting hit by traffic with extreme care.

OT: Couple years ago, I saw a guy nearly walk headlong into an oncoming bus.

Life?
I have the internet and Doctor Who; i don't need a life.

i haven't been surprised - let alone shocked - in a long time.

not when my longest friend told me that he used to cut himself
not when another close friend told me that she tried to kill herself before we knew one another
or when another told me she was raped when she was younger
or when another came out

i didn't know or suspect any of these things; i just wasn't surprised or shocked.

You better close this sig when your done.

I was driving down a highway going 60mph and there was a 2-way stop ahead of me where cars could cross, and as I'm approaching the semi truck at the sign on my right decided to start pulling out into the road attempting to do a left turn. I quickly veered into the oncoming lane, the truck seemed to have stopped after driving into half of my lane and I pass him. Luckily there was no one in the oncoming lane or I would have been screwed. I was way to close to have stopped anywhere near in time.

Also at the same intersection going about the same speed a few days later a car decided to try and cross the road before I got there. I had to slam on the brakes to avoid him.

I'm not sure if the guy in the semi truck just didn't see me, accidentally shifted early or what, but the person in the second story just used absolutely poor judgement.

I'm pretty sure people get shocked when things suddenly happen and they are there, it is not like you should be shocked because someone told you something that happened long ago.

I saw a few people in my electronics classes get shocked by the 120 volts from the wall.

Never me, though. I was one of the smart ones.

they should have surprised me at least.
they were all very sudden and unexpected confessions from people whom i had not for a moment suspected of such things.

if your mother suddenly told you that she had had another child whom you didn't know about, you would be at least surprised, presumably shocked, no?
