I would have my masters know that I have changed. And you shall be my example.

Something popped into my head today. Here's a what if...

What if the forerunner were sentient beings (which we know they are) that
were just like us human beings (which we don't know). What if they were
once like we are today, except when the had to activate the Halo's, they
had evolved to a much more revolutionized position then we are now. Let's
say we will be as smart as they were 3000 years in the future. Maybe the
Forerunner were humans, but when the Halos activated, some survived, but
had to start life and civilization all over again, from square one. They
could have been us, but more highly evolved pass the year 2552.

Dude that's so annoying, how do I fix that?

what if we'll never know, leaving everyone to speculate.

The Frozen Minority - The most infamous clan borne from the Seventh Column.

I believe this is the default human = forerunner theory. It seems like a popular and rational on aswell. You should check out the rampant spec page on HBO, plenty of this stuff.

You should of made up your own instrument. You could have named it the PolarLighting -a-phone. People would buy it and they would all be like "Awh, He's so cool for inventing the PolarLighting-a-phone."

You said thought. As in one sentence. That's more than one sentence and I ain't reading it.

EDIT: Ok, I read it. This theory has been posted before and there is a slight flaw with it. Had some of them survived they probably would've had a ship to do stuff with. That or they would've left some sort of mark of their civilization on Earth, or passed (some of) their knowledge down through memory or something. When the Halos were destroyed life started over completely.

One last thing I forgot to mention. I am safely assuming Earth was unpopulated until the Ark was built there. Oh, and what if the surviving Forerunner were instructed to never mention anything about their originial lifestyle so the evolution process isn't screwed up?

That contradicts your original thought thing. First you say that some Forunner lived to reprodauce, then you say that the ark planted the seeds that would eventually become the new humans.

Not what I meant. Earth was unpopulated until the Forerunner built the Ark there. The surviving Forerunner stayed on Earth when the rings were activated. I'm saying that Earth probably had no Forerunner technology before or after the rings were activated, except for the Ark.
