I'm getting it for Christmas. I've recently jumped on the hype train myself, though I always had an eye on it. I'm excited most by Michael Mando as Vaas, it's an amazing performance and terrific villain from what has been shown so far.
I've been watching a lot of interviews of him and getting to know him through his IMDB page. He is really quite interesting. And he hails from Canada!

The fact that he initially failed an audition, got a minor role written with him in mind, who then ended up becoming the poster boy and antagonist the game shows how talented he is.
Just watching him in the live action series of FarCry 3 gets me ever so more pumped for the game. His voice, looks, the way he acts... definitely one of my favorite villains in recent history.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

shooting was awful, aiming was awful. it was just bad.
When I first played Far Cry Instincts Predator and Far Cry 2, the aiming didn't involve angular momentum - much like Fallout 3 didn't, which deterred me slightly but I adapted.

It did feel unnatural at times when transitioning from a game where the player's aiming involved momentum to one that didn't.

This apple is brown, and rotten. This orange on the other hand, is in relatively average shape. So the orange is definitely the preferable option.
----------You can't compare apples and oranges. You're so dumb.

Not initially. I have a really huge back catalog of single player games to get around to already, and the multiplayer is yet again a huge step in the wrong direction.

They really need to figure out what Far Cry was good at, and why people enjoyed the multiplayer in the first place, then focus resources to develop that niche. Above all else they need to realize people played Far Cry to take a break from competitive multiplayer.

Rather than focusing on generic gametypes, they need to focus on gametypes that are flexible enough for people to create completely different experiences using the map editor. This is why Predator was the most popular gametype in FCI by far.

Removing vehicles because they didn't support "team play", adding a always on loadout/ ranking system in Far Cry 2, and removing predator because it wasn't "gritty" enough are all terrible design decisions.

I am gonna make a survival map on PC. A large island, dense forest, one shotgun, thousands of bears.

If I ever get AIDS, I'm going to sleep with another AIDS person so my AIDS cancel each other out, or I'm going to make the AIDS I already have worse.

Why are people getting it so early when it comes out on the 4th?
Anywway, I'm getting it on the 4th :D

The gameplay is painful to watch and the ending is pretty bad as well.

Of course

i haven't been following it much, but a lot of people and a ton of review sites are saying it's a brilliant and meaty single player experience, so i pre-ordered it. should arrive tomorrow, and i'm not really that excited for it, which is a very good thing in my eyes. i'll be less disappointed if i dont like it, but i'll be blown away if its as good as everyone is saying it is.

Far cry was never about multiplayer in the first place. Remember 2004?
