So I had my first football workouts with the team and to be honest, the weights weren't the worst part. It was the core workouts. Those 6 inch lifts were a killer and I play soccer so my abdominal muscles are in top shape. If anything I feel like I have gotten weaker after the workout.

So I was wondering, how long after serious weight lifting and regular protein and carb intake should I notice weight gain and muscle gain?

also what foods should I avoid and what foods should I definitely eat a lot of?

In around 2 weeks you will start to notice small gains. Although everybody is different so it really depends on how hard you work and how consistent you are with your diet.

It takes a while. If you've never seriously lifted before, your body is going to start getting more efficient with what it's got before you start to build more.

yea well with soccer we never really needed to seriously lift, so yes this will be my first time really lifting weights

oh wait.

Not bad positions at all, stay fast and think quick. When I played tight end and wide receiver, I much more enjoyed tight end. Diving at peoples legs, or running a quick pass and scoring was a rush. Just make sure you can run the routes and you're going to do fine.

OP, do you even lift?


But all silliness aside, immediate, visible results will not be clearly visible for the first one or two weeks, unless you build muscle like the Hulk.

After being in the program for longer, you will realize that you are stronger and your physique is better than before, but for me it has never been instantaneous.

Just keep at it day by day, eat food that is healthy and gives you carbs and protein. Pretty straight-forward stuff. Fish is good at building muscle, but you gotta watch out for mercury or something in it, I don't remember.

Well the answer to your question is dependant on your definition of your use of the word "regular".

Couple weeks to a couple months to notice visible changes probably, depending also on the intensity of the workout and, again, your definition and use of the word "regular" as you have it.
