Poison type Pokemon in general can't be poisoned unless their type is changed.

Most Electric type Pokemon can be paralyzed, but some cant be through abilities like Motor Drive or Lightningrod. Ground types can be paralyzed, but only through moves like Body Slam or Bounce.

Fire type Pokemon cant be burned unless their Type is changed, and if they are burned while its changed, then switch back to the Fire type, the burn will remain.

Ice type Pokemon cannot be frozen, except when hit with Tri-Attack or Secret Power.

Out of these, Paralyzing doesnt really make all that much sense with the irregularities it has amongst itself. Since if something is paralyzed, it should be because of an affect on the targets central nervous system, not because it got hit by some electricity. So with moves like Bounce or Body Slam, they should be causing paralysis and electric type moves should cause something called "Shock" or "Stunned".

What say you on this matter?(Ask if you need something elaborated)

Oh i did take it there, half of the people didnt think i phrased it properly and proceeded to argue with me, the other half was split between agreeing with me, or yelling at others to chill out. Didnt get me anywhere.

I was under the impression the electric shock damages the nervous system (people getting hit by lightning losing the ability to walk), thus causing paralysis. It explains why electric Pokemon aren't immune to Body Slam/Bounce because they're crippling the limbs or breaking the spine.

nah, but people have been debating that SOUND should be a type, at first I thought it was stupid but then I realized after reading their reasoning I kinda want it now.

Which is true, but in general most Electric types can still be hit and paralyzed by their own move type, which doesnt make sense when pretty much every other type is immune to its own status condition.

Classifying it as Normal type seems a bit stupid and lazy, but it'd be hard to integrate it with all the current types since eveything is able to be hurt by Sound. Unless it was a move-type that was a 'jack of all trades, master of none' situation and it did 1x effective damage to all other types. Then it could work.

Not if those Pokemon have nervous systems to cripple. Burn and Frozen statuses are external, which same types could be resistant to (try freezing ice or burning fire/hot coals). Internal damage via electrical shock is unavoidable if you lack the protection, ex. running on electricity or a lightning rod.

Basically my concept makes sense, but it cant work with any other type. Electric pokemon should be immune to damage from electricity because its already coursing through them, but with Burn and Freeze, those are external afflictions meaning they cant be affected in the same matter. Right?

It would be like overcharging a battery or overloading an electrical appliance and frying the circuits. Thankfully some Electric types have ways to protect themselves from power surges, but most of the organic ones can still be overloaded.

Fire not being burned because they already aren't being burned by their own attacks/body. Ice not being frozen because they're already colder than 0 degrees Celsius.

Described that way, my whole theory on this pretty much collapses...im sad now.
