The only thing humanity has peaked is its stupidity, but every day I see something more stupid than the last.

Well, chimpanzees are learning knew tricks passed down from generations that they observed their distant human relatives use. Weapon use has become more evident over the years, including use of natural spear heads to hunt antelope.

Maybe if we all suddenly died, they could be our successors.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

By peak I don't mean that humans stop evolving

"Halo! Its divine wind will rush through the stars, propelling all who are worthy along the path to salvation."

After this we will evolve into cyborgs. Maybe.

Alligators are the evolutionary peak

Don't mistake a temptation for an opportunity.

What about those creatures on the planet from A Wrinkle in Time and how they had weird senses or something

Break down, every single one of you.

No. There is not "peak" to evolution. Just throw us in the ocean and see how we fair against the creatures that live there. You will see that we don't do so well. As I said, there is no peak. There is only continual adaptation. If the species survives, then it works. If the species goes extinct, then it wasn't able to adapt fast enough. These are the beliefs in evolution.
