Gather around the campfire, once it goes out, it's out for good.

Why don't we all just say "Happy Shut The Fück Up"?
I think I'll say this whenever someone tries correcting me after I wish them a Merry Christmas.

It amazes me that people actually protest to have Christmas Trees removed from these places saying it offends them.

Are those the same people that knock on peoples doors and they to convert you to their religion?

I...can't tell what the intention of this post is...so I'll take it for face value.

No.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

In a way I would say yes.

I find the people who want to do thing like remove Christmas Trees just wants their beliefs or lack of beliefs to be more public.

No.

Have you had some person(s) that knocked on your door before. And they want to talk to you about their religion? I was wondering if they are the same people that want to remove Christmas Trees.

You have the right to remove said people from your property, and usually they do. And usually when they are trying to convert, they aren't taking anything from anyone besides moments of their time. Taking away the Christmas tree from public and commercial domain is taking away a symbol that many people enjoy. So in that way, they are different. They both, however, are inconsiderate of others' beliefs to some degree, usually.

Feel free to send me messages, please be willing to wait 6-8 years for a reply.

1-7 hours if you at least tried to make it readable.

Immediately if you are Yax, Telec, or legendary.

Never if you are mythic, you guys smell funny.

I don't care for those kinds oy symbols being diplayed in public property, but most people in Britian celebrate Xmas, and I can hardly feel bad about the way I get treated by people for being atheist if I think its OK to have a go at people for celebrating Xmas.

ooga booga boooh

Friends before pixels.

I'm not Christian, and I still wish everyone a Merry Christmas ect ect.

I don't get offended, but I understand where people are coming from.

Not sure if you're serious.
But I'll act like you were.

I think that tax payer dollars being used on any holiday would be equally outrageous.

"Wake me...when you need me."

I don't think anyone gets offended. I think the 'idea' that people are offended is just part of the mainstream media's war on Christianity.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

If I went to live in the Middle East where Christianity isn't nearly as widespread then I wouldn't see any Christmas trees at that time of year.

If someone from there came to a Western nation then they may take it offensively because the Trees are EVERYWHERE and they don't have a choice.

I see where they're coming from, even though it doesn't bother me, but I'm not in a position to judge.

  • 11.30.2012 5:10 AM PDT

Well, I've been economical with the truth.

Well if they come to the Western world then they should expect Western traditions. People can't always have things their way.

I'm not discriminatory. I don't like any of you.

In short, if you're offended, it's your problem. Don't look at it.

*sigh* time to get off the mains magic...

RIP Logan ~B.B.

lol, 4 more pages of people that absolutely don't get the point. No one is offended by the term Merry Christmas, nor by the sight of a Christmas tree. You will literally never find an angry mob demanding you take your personal yard decorations down. The issue is whether the state sponsors it or not. The state not being involved in religion has been very important to a lot of people going back to the founding of our country. People aren't upset over seeing a Christmas tree, they are upset over their government endorsing a single religion.

I find it all equally ridiculous and annoying. Also, it appears you are of the majority who celebrates Christmas.

Imagine everyone walking around pretending everyone else believes the same things they do and are clearly celebrating the exact same holiday because to celebrate anything else would be ludicrous. It can be slightly offensive.

Thats a joke, right?

  • 11.30.2012 6:21 AM PDT

As a non-Christian I have never heard someone from my family or friend or any other non-Christian in fact say that the Christmas tree offends them. How can it? Its just a TREE!

You can't force a nation not to express their religion. In the UK there are a lot of Christmas trees and I think its great. A country where over 80% of the population are Christian, they should have the right to celebrate it.

  • 11.30.2012 6:30 AM PDT

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

Some people are insecure about their religions and become upset when they see that their religion isn't as recognized as Christianity and Catholicism.

TRU7H. CARNAGE. BUNGIE

I don't see how this would be such a big issue..

I love Xmas all though I'm an atheist.. It's just an old pagan fest that has materialized far beyond the religious meaning anyways...

I don't always ban people but when I do I laugh uncontrollably...that's if I was a Forum Ninja.

Truth is a matter of perception.

The Button

When I was in JROTC we would do the bell ringing for the Red Cross at our local mall and we were told to only say "Happy Holidays" because it might offend someone. Honestly, I couldn't careless if it offends someone, they can get over it.
