Subject: Moments Where You're Proud to be Part of Your Country

The Snow Leopard's wisdom includes: Understanding one's shadow-side; trusting one's inner-self; agility; strength; the ability to stalk; understanding the power of silence.

I've never been proud of living in the US.

Signatures are for little kids.

When we club the baby seals it always make me proud to be Canadian.

Baby seals... such worthless little creatures.

That's right.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

It's not the worst. Not even close. I just think it's the most pathetic for being in such horrible shape with all the advantages and advances they have. They went from a great nation that was open to the world to the problem child who cry's over spilt milk.

"I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, but I can't accept not trying." - M. Jordan

Why would you pick Africa? There are other places outside of the United States like Europe. You know, a whole continent. The continent that most Americans came from. Something tells me you know very little about American history.

This country is very young in relation to the rest of the major powers. There is a lot wrong in America. It is not a perfect country.

Well I live in the UK. So I can say I am proud to have a Queen and a Royal family. Oh and God save the Queen! Nah jokes aside I like being English.

I don't want to argue but what do you mean "open to the world" and "cry's over spilt milk."?

How vague. You could say that about any country on the planet.

The Universe demands to be noticed, to be seen, and dutifully noted.

What use all those incredible firework dimensions if no eye fixes and reflects, no brain takes notes, no heart moves with passion at the display?

NASA answers the silent cry of the Cosmos for recognition.

NASA is the witness and we fellow witnesses to the endless deeps.

Everytime Australia sends another boatload of refugees back to the war-torn country they came from!

Refugees! They're not white; why should we care?!

At the time I was typing that my thoughts were how you sue to welcome people from the world, and now it's close the gates build a fence and keep em out. I am well aware it's not a nationwide thing but it's how you come off to most of the world. Which is saying something.

As far as the spilt milk, the expression may not fit but I was thinking of how you get involved in other nations business even if they don't want you to. Ignoring Nato decisions and doing as you please. America was and could be again beautiful lady but as of right now. . . It's just shameful.

EDIT: LOL the whole time I was typing that I was wondering if anyone would notice my coup well reading this. Coincidence is all.

I live in America; so, not yet.

Get the hell out than, you don't deserve to live here if you have 0 pride.

Every day I always reflect on how happy I am where I live.

A little bit related to what you're talking about, but I hate people who have ZERO pride in the country that they live in, especially people in other countries who appreciate the U.S instead of their own. I have Facebook friends that live in European countries such as Austria, Germany, Italy, Norway, and France who always talk about America and how its so great instead of their own. That made me lose respect for them instantly and makes me rage that people can't take pride in their own country.

<(-_-)> Teh mokey is not amused

I don't see the point in being proud over a country. Perhaps proud of someone from that country but never just the country.

Every Brit on these forums has to agree we are all fiercely proud of the NHS.

Perhaps if it was any good and didn't keep getting budget cuts.

I'm not a patriot. In fact I dislike the idea of patriotism and being "proud" of a country.

Hi! How you doin'?

Sometimes, all you need are a couple giant explosions to get you through the day.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that a good number of people are taking this thread as an excuse to insult other countries, instead?

On topic, the only complaint I have about the U.S. is that many people don't seem to think through their options enough when electing people; As in to say, they don't seem to read up on the issues as much as they should.
