In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

are they stupid?

"THQ Is So Broke, They've Made A Humble Bundle"

They are making IGN look credible. Why are they so sensationalist?

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

There are bad writers in almost every profession. I've seen Kotaku post dumber stuff.

Not to mention the only thing misleading is the title of the article.

If you get a chance to talk to K-Mart, tell him Mabian misses him...

He won't remember me, but it's always nice to let a complete stranger on the internet know that you care.

Sir I can't help but get the sense that you don't want to really talk about this, you want to "nail" me.

Shouldn't even link the website. They don't deserve the traffic.

I'm 23, I have a house, dog, girlfriend, job and I have no interest in any fanboyism so if you're thinking about sending me a childish PM, don't be surprised when I don't call back.

Kotaku has always been about heavily opinionated journalism with little facts.

I work for the Department of Defense.

It's sad that I was not interested in any of these games. Even if SR3 was free I'd think twice before even downloading it :/

Um...

I-I thought they were broke. That was the point of this bundle, to stop THQ from going out of business...you pay however much you want for the games,in the hope you pay over the odds, like a charity auction.

What is it for then? Someone correct me, please.

Doesn't some of that money go to charity?

The main purpose of the bundle is charity, you choose how much you give to a game dev or how much you give to an organization to help people.

You can have 100% go to charity.

This ends up being a massive tax writeoff for THQ which costs them next to nothing to provide.

So yes, it is probably a desperate move of a dying studio trying to trim their tax bill.

[As of October 2012]
2013 ADFA Officer Cadet of the RAAF (Aerospace Engineer Electronics Officer).

OP, THQ is broke, due to the money they wasted on Homefront.

Now they're circling the drain and need help to get back on track.

I've gone ahead and bought the bundle for $25.

That is just an option; the default setting gives THQ about 80% of your money.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

I feel like they deserve the money. There's a lot of potential that'll go down if they go down.

And even if you elect the 100% donation, as THQ is not a 501c3 charitable organization, your donation is not tax-deductible. The money is still a payment to THQ.

But the money you have designated to go to charity is tax deductible by THQ as they are making the donation to the 501c3. So they get the writeoff.

And really, if they set things up well, they might be able to try to push for writing off fair market value of the games as donations to charity. You paid $5 for $190 in games - they convince the IRS the fair market value is $190 and write off the difference as well.

Kind of like writing off donations to charity auctions - which is almost like what this is.

What you've learned: Companies don't do anything just out of the goodness of their hearts.

Rock bottom is no place to set up camp. Especially in the dark.

It seems to me as if it's just a joke, but I'm not sure. I see nothing wrong with this, to be honest.
