Might be old news to some of you.

Anyway according to Steve Elis the games was 99% finshed but as we all no it still got scraped due to financial problems. But realy at 99% , what the hell were LucasArt thinking about?
Oh well at least we got Kinect Star Wars.

"We had a 99% finished game that just needed bug fixing for release. It should have been our most successful game, but it was cancelled for financial reasons. I'm happy that people did at least get to see what we were working on and share the team's enthusiasm for it.

Bhineka Tunggal Ika!!

I thought this was a cold info?

I mean, I think I've read about it before...
All they need was an approval from the head of Lucasarts, but the sudden change of managements prevent them from it right?

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

Damn you Lucas, what a waste of money to cancel it

  • 11.30.2012 7:11 AM PDT

Yes but it wasn't "polished" It was still in an extremely buggy state.

  • 11.30.2012 7:12 AM PDT

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

LucasArts soothed the disappointment by giving us a choice to dance with Jar-Jar though.

-blam!- idiots..

This game would of sold so well, no one wants Kinect star wars.

Now that Disney owns LucasArts, maybe you'll get a release?

Just a thought.

Watch out. If I post in your thread, chances are it'll die. I've been cursed, and if I kill your thread, I'm sorry.

Wait, so it was basically finished, was going to sell MASSIVE copies and make plenty of profit, yet rather than do all of the bug fixing that was left, they decided to scrap the project?

Makes PERFECT SENSE to me...

Lucas probably wanted a campaign with the adventures of Jar-Jar Binks but once they refused he scrapped the project.

such a shame. They still need to make it.

Halo 3 is where the morons of the universe congregates.

I am thinking of an old story. "Three Billy Goats Gruff" (hint the troll dies at the end)

If you had an electron microscope, you still couldn't find the -blam!- I don't give.

Are we sure that GabeN didn't aquire the rights to the battlefront and KOTOR games when we weren't looking?

Do you have any idea how much work can that "a bit of fixing" can require... it's not like putting a cherry on the cake...

And I was having such a nice day.

  • 11.30.2012 7:41 AM PDT

Who's got AIDS?

Why the hell isn't there a petition or something to make this game come out? I'm sure some developer will want to pick it up. That is, if Lucas wants to allow it.

*Disney

Remember that Lucas sold LucasArts and all its Star Wars licenses to Disney. Disney has come out and said they probably are not interested too much in console game development, but are open to licensing out the rights to the Star Wars franchise.
