So, today I was with my friend and his GF and I overheard him talking about a meet up this weekend. I thought it would just be those two so I stayed out. Then I overheard that two other people were going and the meet up place is literally just outside my house (you can see it from my window). Wondering why I hadn't been invited, I politely said 'I'll be in town this weekend, mind if I pop along?" To which he replied "sure".

I can sorta see why he didn't invite me, I mean I never go outside anyway and I'm probably not the best company since my social anxiety disorder prevents me from speaking even if I want to.

So, I need your advice, should I go to this thing, or not go?

The HELL you are! These are precious gifts to me and they are non-transferable! How dare you regift my challenge prize. You might as well hock a wedding ring for beer money. -DeeJ

Depends, do you think you'll have fun?

I guess, if I can build up the courage to speak. He's promised a party at his house so yeah it'll be fun.

No. Defiantly not. It'll be awkward for them and you so just spare yourself the embarrassment and stay home!

Stay at home, levelling is the way to go. I can guarantee that you won't miss anything.

Ask your friend if he actually wants you to go or if he was being polite and also explain your situation. If he's your friend he should answer truthfully and you'll know what to do.

If you invited yourself to this get together, you don't have social anxiety. Why do people so often self diagnose themselves with disorders they know nothing about...?

Well actually, a lot of S A D people can talk to their close friends and family fine. If he was even a slightly more distant friend I wouldn't have been able to do it, but I've known him for over a decade so I'm quite comfortable with him.

I see. But it's not just you and him, is it? There are going to be other people there as well, so if you really have social anxiety, just stay home. Not worth it at all.

Two movies you should watch: Fight Club and Pineapple Express

"Wait. What do you mean, it's dead?"
"If marijuana is not legal within the next five years I have no faith left in humanity, period. Everyone likes smoking weed. They have for thousands of years. They're not going to stop anytime soon. You know? It makes everything better. Makes food taste better, makes music better. It makes sex feel better for God's sake. It makes -blam!- movies better you know?"

If you're over thinking it then you shouldn't go. Your problems come first.

I guess. I hang around with them at school and they all like me but I never speak to them. Although I can kinda speak when someone starts speaking to me, and if there are just 5 of us that could be more likely cause at school our group is about 10 people or something
