The question is self-explanatory. I was just wondering if the Flood believes that lying (i.e. no telling the truth) is inherently bad.

I personally don't believe so. For me its the motivation. If you are lying for selfish ends to protect your mistakes, then that makes it bad. But if you lie to protect or save someone else from harm due to an evil act done to them, then it can be good.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

This made me think for a while. I believe, though, in the end, that lies are still detrimental, even when told to protect someone. If they have to deal with it, it'll hurt then, but the experiences will also make them stronger. If they don't have them, they won't ever end up dealing with something. It can also damage your relationship with someone very badly (I speak from experience of being lied to). Honesty can be painful, but dishonesty is often much worse.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Some lies are necessary. The truth does not always set you free. Some lies keep you safe, keep you safe from yourself.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Very difficult to build/maintain trust if you suspect that someone may be lying to you at any given time.

So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

About 99.9% of the time, it's bad. So yes.

What is language for if not to exchange ideas? And for what shall it be if it leaves one thinking a thing black when it is white?

Doc: "i'm a pacifist"
Caboose: "your a thing that babies suck on?"
Tucker: "no dude, that's a pedephile"
Church: "tucker, i think he means a pacifier"

There are times where a lie can be told for the good of someone, whether it be the teller or another party, but you can almost always argue that lying isn't the best idea. How harmful a lie is is also typically a matter of debate.

Probably 99% of the time, yes.

The little white lies you tell your GF/Wife when she asks,"
Does this dress make me look like a beached whale?" is acceptable. Telling the truth then may have disastrous consequences, IE, actually telling here that she looks like a stranded Beluga in a miniskirt.

A slight ‘’incident’’ has occurred in the forum. Me and Random have both been banned by myself. Which is annoying? Hopefully this is fixable? PLZ? Random is becoming angry.

No, not at all.

We live in a society where it is socially acceptable to lie to people - so much so it's expected of people. If people went around telling everyone what they truly thought of them, I doubt any of them would have many friends at all.

Of course, one can lie for their own selfish ends, but that's part of life. There's a line which needs to be drawn - it's a fine one, but it's there.
