Does being physically stronger matter that much in an era of warfare that doesn't use broadswords anymore?
There will always be the soldier that is stronger than the other guys and the soldier that is weaker than the other guys. Armies have gotten along fine, and those soldiers are normally as trusted in combat as any other soldier. Melee combat (as rare as it is now) is more about knowing how to use all of your strength to your advantage than how much you can lift.

Actually its not sexism, its fact. On average, woman tend not to be as strong as men because of how there body is built. That doesn't mean all men are stronger then women. Though some woman are stronger then certain men, that doesn't change the fact that generally speaking, men are stronger.
It's science man.Well, actually, that's statistics. Which is a science, but not in the way I think you meant the term.
Besides, just because that's the averages over the course of society doesn't mean that women are predisposed to be less physically strong than men, or at least not in a way that is significant to a military soldier. If after boot camp and years of service a male soldier can, on average, lift 250 pounds, and a female soldier could, on average, only life 230 pounds, it's not that big of a problem.
Your statement is correct, though. Women are on average going to be weaker than men. I just don't think you can necessarily claim that gender is the cause, but maybe there is research proves me wrong.
