I've got a fan!

Do you use an automatic dishwasher or do you wash your dishes by hand? Frankly, anyone that uses dishwashers is a lazy plebeian that doesn't enjoy dishwashing, and I have no respect for them.

You might be thinking, "Who cares? I just need my kitchen to get my plates from point A to point B clean. Why do extra work?"

Let me explain it to you:
-Automatic dishwashers are heavier due to extra equipment in your kitchen
-Automatic dishwashers have less torque. A hand and a sponge provide much better torque to help scrub off stains
-Automatics are less fuel efficient because they require power to operate the dishwasher; manual dishwashing only requires a water source
-Automatics require more dishwashing liquid
-Manual dishwashing leads to less kitchen maintenance

Plus, washing your dishes by hand gives you greater control of your dishes, and it's more fun.

So Flood, what do you use?

Semi-automatic.

I just turn a hand crank and the machine does the rest.

Dishwasher by far

I use both. I hope no one just throws dirty dishes in the dishwasher will nilly, that's stupid. I rinse off every dish and scrub the hell out of them to get anything off, then put them in he dishwasher, mostly as a once-over sort of thing and to kill any remaining bacteria.

The Internet is an empowerment tool that's agnostic; it doesn't care about race, gender, or age.

Real men use their hands.

Please do not send me group invites.

Depends on the size of your house, really. If you live with 5 people, it's much easier to just toss your dishes in the dishwasher.

As for me, I just live with one other person, so we rarely use our dishwasher. Usually we just wash them in the sink and let them dry.

Well, here we are. I guess that it was destined to come to this.

Plates, glasses and flatware? Dishwasher.

Pots, pans, tools/implements/knives? Handwash.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

I tend to wash things up right after I use them.

I am a pharmaceutical scientist. I received my Masters degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia in 2010, after working as a Pharmacist for 4 years. I currently work in King of Prussia, PA, and focus on the analytical chemistry of small molecule APIs. My clients include some of the most well known big pharma companies in the world.

I do both depending on what I feel like. After a 9 hour day busting my ass in a laboratory performing all sorts of R&D, I'll be damned if I don't feel like taking it easy on the dishes some nights.

For my dishes, I just throw them in the local lake and get them out after a day or two. Catfish clean them up quite nicely.

I used an automatic dishwasher up until about 2 years ago. Then I moved into an apartment that didn't have one so I just did all my dishes by hand. Now I'm so used to it that I do that regardless.

I know what this is making fun of, but to answer the question, I do a mix of both.

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

You're crazy. Washing dishes isn't fun in the slightest. It's nasty and time-consuming.

Of course it's fun; being able to accelerate from 0 to 60 dishes per hour is intense.

I do them by hand because it's a lot faster.

At max it's going o take 5 minutes to clean them. What is so important that you couldn't wait the 5 minutes?

It doesn't take 5 minutes when you have 5 family members and your Dad is a chef.

I'd rather not waste time on something that can be done on it's own. It's not in the least bit entertaining.
