what is it with metriod prime that makes it a great game? is it the lack of a multiplayer? is it the fact that you have to use the horrible gamecube controller where the c button/joystick looks and feels like a nipple? or is it that it doesn't have straff? or it is the fact fact that for the first hour or so i am fighting different shapes of bugs? or is that fact that the weak spot lights up when you target them? i just don't understand why people like ign, gamespy(which to whom gave metriod prime a 97 and halo an only 85) and gameinformer that give halo a lower score to a game that is way better, then a game made for 7 year olds. its just plain stupid.

I saw that on G4 TV, on the show filter, the two games went head to head for which had the best graphics. Metroid won that too.

I don't know if it is a better game because I haven't played it, but it is a lot older and has a longer history. i think more people (of power/media) could favor it more because of this reason. You also have to remeber that those nintendo fan boys are pretty militant too.

I sold gamecube for Xbox. Metroid Prime was decent and pretty cool. Its not the same kind of game. Its more of an adventure. I like Halo way more though.

the graphics on the game aren't anything special either, i mean the water that comes off your visor when you get of water looks like goo, but the graphics aren't nearly as detailed as halo though.

Maybe it's the fact that you are two people in cool full body armor. But Metroid Prime, it's graphics, and it's story suck.

Yes, the graphics are much better than Halo's, and the gameplay is more adventure ish... The story gets fed to you in-game basically, and you keep moving around into every area... There aren't really "levels" like in Halo, just a continuous story and many save points. Even though I like Halo more cause I sucked at Metroid Prime, and I'm lazy to find all the special items and stuff, it's originality (First Person Adventure Shooter) makes it a better game in general. That's probly why the media liked it more..

Prime was a great game, but I never had any desire to play it again after playing through it once. I tried to play it again, but I quit after about 2 hours. Graphically it was very good, probably better than Halo in some stages like the volcano area or the frozen part. The controls weren't too bad, but they definetly don't hold a candle to Halo's. It was definetly a good game, it just doesn't have the replay value of halo and the story was pretty lame. If you haven't played it before I would recommend at least trying it out.

what people don't understand its takes EVERYthing to make a good game, controls, graphics, story, replay value, mulitplayer, and story. i dunno about metriods story, space pirates and bugs don't make a great story. and the graphics where not better than halo, and if they where, you have to remember that halo came out way before metriod did. its like the people saying killzone is going to be better then halo. halo is getting up there in its age. and why did it take a whole game for nintendo to realize that hey maybe multiplayer is a good thing? i still think if anything halo should have gotten at least one point better then metriod at all times, just for the fact that it has multiplayer. i don't think a game should get better then a 9.3 at all times if it doesn't have a decent multiplayer.
