It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
I want to journey into space because simply, and irrefutably: I want to experience the vast expanse and majesty of the universe in it's rawest form.
Generations upon generations of people have looked up toward the starry night sky and thought, "I want to go there." Whether our origins lie in intelligent design, or the notion that we are simply products of a cosmic coincidence are to be proven true - all humans, regardless of belief, are drawn towards infinity.
The minuscule specks of dust that spread throughout our sky no doubt harbor amazing, spectacular things. To be bestowed the honour and privilege to travel there - hand in hand with the divine - would be to the envy of all others who dream the same.
Once again, simply and irrefutably; to journey into space and to slip the surly bonds of our Earth would be to carry the torch of all mankind. To live the dreams of a thousand generations.
Sure of my worthiness, I am certainly not. But given the opportunity I would undoubtedly try.
