Please can you floodies try to make a valid argument why "this" headphone is better that "that" headphone! So many people are just naming brands! I would really appreciate if you guys helped me more. Research online isn't very helpful. There are a lot of headphones!
Alright alright. Calm your horses cowboy. Based on your response to my previous post, I'll give you some suggestions. Since you want surround sound headphones, that is going to extremely narrow the results, and I suggest that you rethink whether or not you truly want surround sound because you are missing out on a lot of high quality headphones.
-Turtle Beach X42
While this does kind of go against what I said previously about the best headphones having no mic, based on what you need, this is a good option. It offers acceptable surround sound quality and is wireless, so you don't have to worry about wires (obviously).
-Audio Technica A-700x
This is getting more into high-fidelity audio. Audio Technica is known for making high quality headphones, and their line of closed-back audiophile-grade headphones are known to be extremely suitable for both gaming and music. It offers a pretty substantial bass, but doesn't forget about the rest of the spectrum. It isn't surround sound, but for the quality of the sound it produces, it doesn't really matter.
-Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro
This is a very unique set of cans. The sound signature of the headphones is actually adjustable, which means that you can choose whether you want immersive gaming (lots of bass) or competitive gaming (little bass). The headphones allow you to choose how much bass you want which allows it to be extremely versatile. Again, this doesn't have surround sound, but the sound quality it produces is superb.
And if you want a mic, all you have to do is install this mod (with the correct cable adapters to work with an Xbox or PS3) and presto, you have a high quality gaming headset.
But if surround sound is truly what you really care about, Turtle Beach really is the way to go. Just go to their website and check out what they have.
