Also, it looks like they kept the parts of the LotR soundtrack as well. Sweeet.

"It is the cruelest fate, to have written words that meant well and see them made wicked and unwise. What was meant to encourage life, used instead to justify taking it."

This new trilogy is going to be legendary!

I watched The Hobbit a few days ago at a special crew viewing in Wellington, New Zealand. The music is beautiful and the "Misty Mountains Cold" theme that Thorin and Co. sing at Bags End runs throughout the entire film, and as far as musical themes go its about as good as you can get.

The film is excellent. You guys are going to love it.

That's good and all, but still just sounds like an imitation of Howard Shore's masterpiece. :/

How can it be an imitation if its composed by Howard Shore and intentionally meant to sound similar to the LotR because its meant to be part of that timeline?

OT: How many films are there gonna be for the Hobbit?
I asumed it would be just one films but my friend (who has a much better understanding of LotR) tells me there will be two.

It was originally going to be two, but it was soon changed to three, making it a trilogy.
