Yes believe it or not there are actually some of us who actively participate in reading books. I have never read many books up until this point in my life mainly because all the books where I live suck. I order all of my books off of ebay, something that up until recently in my life could not be done. So I'll recommend you some books YOU should read, and hopefully some of you will recommend some books as well.

Bambi & Bambi's Children. (Two great books, if you think they're children's book think again as most of the book contemplates about hunting deer. That and the books are nearly nothing like the movies except that disney stole some ideas and played out an entirely different story.)

Not all history books are good or engaging. However If you're a history fanatic like I am you may enjoy certain history books. Beware of crummy history books. I have to many I enjoy to list them off but my suggestion would be to get some reviews about them before you start reading.

History books are a lot like teachers, some of them are bland and boring while others you never want to put down. For me I prefer straight to the point information with some nice to know information on the sideline. I don't want a timeline of important events. I want to know ALL of the history.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

I found an enjoyable book about Caesar, which was aptly named Caesar.

I haven't read it, but most people tell me it was better. I'm over halfway through the book and it's pretty slow moving. Good, but slow.

Most of the halo books either suck or are only decent, the one I had the most joy reading was Halo: The Fall of Reach. understandably because it helped provide some background to the spartans and spartan-117

My dear boy, I could read a hundred books on recent US history and half or more of it would be either be a lie, untold, or crooked truths.

Some might find it handy. [:How To:]

I'm from a generation that didn't play Pokemon.

Beat the Reaper - Josh Bazell

I am a penguin. Every day I boogie on down to the water, and eat fish. Once, while fishing in the deepest depths, I saw great Cthulhu... And he said to me "Shine, to thine own self be true. They can't tell you what to do once you've gone guru." Also, I should tell you, "slide".

Inventor of the Bombstache avatar!

That Is All by John Hodgman.

The section on white wines had me in tears (laughing tears... for those who don't know who John Hodgman is).

Sci fi is my genre of choice.

If you haven't already, read the Dune series, all of them.

also, the Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher, are gems of magical comedy.

John Ringo's, Troy Rising series also has a lot of amusement value.

I don't generally read to many history books because my fiancee is a historian and she constantly tells me everything that she's reading.
