Look harder. There are plenty of great meaningful songs out there.

Talking about Sweden is an ultrabannable offense.

Too bad being completely and utterly wrong isn't a bannable offense.

Are you familiar with Sturgeon's Law?

90% of all works are -blam!-.

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

Just because you don't like the millions of varied and totally different songs that're coming out every year, doesn't mean everyone doesn't like them.

Don't punch a British kid, the queen'll come after you.

There is loads of brilliant music around today, arguably with more variety than ever.

Don't know. It's all teenagers singing -blam!- pop songs, not even good pop songs, no, -blam!- ones. Why??????

Here to end the borrowed time you've all been living on.

If you lived in a house in the middle of a desert then you could look out your window and say 'the world is just a load of sand'. Quite obviously, it's not. If you went searching then you'd realize there is a lot more in the world.

Listen to the radio and you'll just see sand, go looking

I'm your biggest fan!

I'm starting to agree with people like the OP. It's not that I don't think good music is being made, it's just that it's more "buried" now. You have to dig around for it, to a certain extent, and I just don't have the time or patience for that. Even when you go underground and start looking at more innovative musicians, it still feels like you have to sort through five crap bands to find one decent one.

I don't think modern music sucks, just that it sucks that we have to spend so much time looking for it.

When people first listened to recorded music, when basically classical music was popular, they didn't invest time into new music and instead drifted toward melodic and familiar music. As a result people started to make -blam!- music that appealed to the lowest common denominator and that has been the case forever. It's so so so much easier to find better music now with the internet. It has in no way got harder and people have in no way started to make worse music

Where are this generation's Beatles? Elvis Presley? Led Zepellin? Pink Floyd? I'm sure there are bands just as good as them out there but where the hell are they?

I'm an Anarchist. I don't need a government to be a good person, but I'm glad it's here because some of you clearly do.

The Shins are a great example of modern bands that are great and relatively unpopular in comparison to other mainstream bands.

Music changes. That music has had its time and now something different will replace it.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

There's plenty of excellent music with meaning; you're just looking for it in the wrong place if you're using the charts.

Rain, and Jazz.
Halo: Tactical

I'm either a fool or an inteligent man, depending on how sleepy or angry I am.

I originaly made an account on 07.27.2007 but I wanted to link my GT and made this account. Don't forget your passwords!

I don't even know OP. I've only heard around 4-7 good songs on the radio this entire year. Four years ago, the number would be 28-45. It seems to me that all the music I like is not mainstream, but not hipster either.

Anyways, this is mah current stash of good music (Hit "More Releases" in the bottom right for all 24 albums. A few have 30 to 40 songs.). It has a ton of variety too because its from so many different writers. If you click on the little play buttions instead of the title you can have it play one after the other, which is nice.
