Saying something is not the same thing as having pride in it.
For example: I have a phone.
I could simply be stating that I have a phone. Or, I could be bragging about having a phone. Whether or not I am is entirely up to you, thanks to the lack of body language and other nonverbal cues caused by this text based medium of communication we are using.
You think people "have pride in the possibility of having ADD these days" because that's how you read it when they say that they do.
Nah, it's pretty obvious there are individuals who will literally spew out the fact that they have ADD as if it makes them different or special. I don't see why you would ever want to randomly tell somebody you have ADD. If anything, it's embarrassing. Not being able to concentrate when you'd like to is god damn terrible.
Talking about ADD and talking about your phone are two very different things. It's even worse when people like the OP here, who haven't actually been diagnosed, claim they have ADD because they can't concentrate.
