Live in the moment before it's too late

So up until recently I had never played a Mass Effect game, then my friend let me borrow the entire trilogy, so, logically, I started from the beginning. Mass Effect 1 was great, made since, Mass Effect 2 was also pretty great. Enter Mass Effect 3.

Right away when I started playing this.. abomination, Shepard started just talking by himself without my input. "Well ok, this is the beginning, stuff is supposed to happen." But this stayed consistent. There was less options, the whole game felt like "ok, you start here at point A, anddddddd point B is the end gogogo".

Cept the story didn't even really make since. The reapers (and that's almost a laughable name in itself) started attacking Earth and everywhere else right away. But yet Shepard's like "ohhh crap a colonies under attack, better help them before I help Earth!" or "lalala I'm gonna go drink and talk to people and run around in circles while millions of people are dying." The pace and just general gist felt... wrong.

I didn't get that far in the game, I saved the students where Jack was and then I had enough, but another thing was poking at my mind. "Oh, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, we're all gonna have to unite just for a little while to fight these guys off." and yet... THEY'RE ATTACKING CERBERUS!? Ok, I get it, they're mind controlling humans and if they got more reaper tech then that'd be bad for after the war. But seriously. It felt like they just included Cerberus so you could be fighting humans.

The dialog for what I experienced was corny and misplaced. Take Ashley for example, when you visit her in the hospital while she's unconscious. Shepards like "I'll always be here for you. If you need anything I'll get it. *walks out the door* Don't you worry baby I'm gonna be back." I know it didn't exactly go like that, but I can imagine the rest of the game had that type of awkward silence corny dialog (not saying the other mass effects didn't have it).

Everything just felt like a transition to crap when I hopped from ME2 to ME3. The only good things I can say were the graphics were pretty (oh another thing, lets upgrade the normandy again, but give it horrible lighting so we can't see wtf we're doing), (OH and one more thing, the whole galaxy map and the reapers chasing you. Really?), anddddddd the husks were kinda scary. I heard the ending sucked bad, I don't even wanna finish this game.

It's a good thing I didn't buy it, or even rent it, just borrowed it. Feel sorry for my friend though.
