I know sometimes kids make mistakes, some even go so far as to break the law. But some youth offences, mild ones that pale in comparison to this act, can be treated with understanding and even leniency, that may help explain or rehabilitate their poor behavior. But these young lads are old enough to understand what assault is. But even more so, it's practically human nature sympathize with people who may be disabled and so we would never dream of hurting them as they are in cases such like these, comeplety defenseless.
Everyone involved needs to face severe consequences, including the individual that enjoyed recording the entire thing.
It is in rare occurrences like this that I think all consideration of leniency and understanding should be thrown out the door. These boys are almost adults, but even a young child knows how very wrong this is... They did this not out of anger or misdirected rage - not that those things ever justify assaulting someone either - they did it because they thought assaulting a helpless victim who unable to fight back would be fun, and so they could watch him squirm helplessly and suffer without concern for retaliation.
