I'm reading up on it.

UNSC Ships have "centrifugal force" and linear acceleration, not "gravity machines".
only in the early books like fall of reach. That has since been retconed. the ships in the Halo games clearly don't have rotating sections. And in Spartan ops the artificial gravity generators get shut down on the infinity temporarily.

Still, the Forerunners are thousands upon thousands of years ahead of the UNSC in technology. It's artificial gravity.

If you come to think about it, the Covenant would also have at least a mock-up of the Forerunners' rendition of artificial gravity.

Artificial gravity?
That's impossible, you can't simulate gravity
Somebody missed half of the technology of the Halo universe.

OP doesn't know how to science fiction.

It's artificial gravity. If that is too unrealistic for you, i feel bad for you, because that invalidates just about every sci-fi ever.

Covenant ships also use artificial gravity, among other covenant gadgets.

I write poetry, I write short-stories, I listen to hip-hop (80s&90s), Reggae, Classic Rock n Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues, and the 60s, 70s.

Its a planet, it spins. Last time I checked, that could create artificial gravity.

Again, the UNSC clearly has it too. In Halo 4, cortana turns the artifical gravity on in the Dawn and everything just immediatly falls to the deck. Same thing with the infinity in Spartan Ops. Artifical gravity is used by everyone in the Halo Universe. The whole rotating sections thing is clearly untrue if you so much as look at any UNSC ship.

If I'm not mistaken, only for people at the equator/prime meridian, depending on how it spins.

No.

If the mass is concentrated in the crust, there would still be gravity, with the center of gravity being in the center of the hollow sphere. There wouldn't be too much of a difference.

  • 12.01.2012 2:07 PM PDT

It has artificial gravity magic, this is a staple of science fiction - it's not meant to be questioned. I don't know why you are questioning this, forerunners have the capability of building entire worlds, creating megastructures like the ark outside of the galaxy, seeding life, hiding planets in slipspace.

You're not supposed to complain about artificial gravity.

Brainwashing, idiotic media: "hur dur, vido gaems cas vilenc n iz nt gud. dey ned 2 b baned."

Logic: Really? Then please explain how there's violence in third world countries. I guess they're all poor due to the large amount of video games they buy.

Cortana used the light bridge to shield John from the blast and held back enough power "to get you off the ship".

Cortana shielded him in hard light. Hard light is light, and so theoretically could wrap him up so fast that he would be protected before the detonation mechanism even had time to trigger. It's a bit of a stretch, and I still can't figure out how she kept it activated for so long after the projector blew up, but it is explainable.

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

Perhaps it's simply Cortana sustaining it temporarily with the last of her power, since it's gone in a few minutes when John is recovered by the Pelican.

What, so the stuff the Forerunners used to make bridges could also be used to make nuke-proof armour? That would make the entire Halo universe implode in a sea of ridicule.

What power? she is a computer program not a generator, and even if she was, she would need a projector to maintain the bubble right? maybe she was using John's suit. After the blast was over I suppose she wouldn't need much power to keep him safe from the debris.

What house has a rocket pod, has legs, and has a long narrow barrel that probably shoots something powerful?

Sounds like you're describing the lower half of my body, actually.

Hardlight shield. Best thing to explain anything in Halo 4.
