This image also has some quotes:
"Our story begins seven hundred years from now in the Last City on Earth, in a Solar System littered with the ruins of man's Golden Age."The story begins on earth, but where can it end up? Anywhere in the universe possibly?
I get what you're trying to say here, that "Our story begins..." is supposed to support the fact that we must be going other places off-planet, but I really don't think that supports the argument, as you can use "Our story begins..." for almost any story, even if the setting never changes.
Take for example a story where a woman shops for groceries at a grocery store. The story could start with, "Our story begins with Mrs. Frowley at the local grocery store..." Even if the setting never changes, that is a legitimate statement, because that is where the story started.
Now, you do have a few good points and you've made a good thread overall, so I'm not saying that there won't be a good amount of exploration, and I'm not arguing against the possibly of settings that are extraterrestrial; I'm just pointing out a flaw in that one bit of logic.
