Your thinking is flawed. Of course I don't want those jobs, but there are American-born citizens that are willing to do those jobs so that they themselves can get out of the poverty that lives in the US. If all the poverty-stricken Mexicans are coming over here and taking the lower end jobs, that means that the third class legal citizens IN America won't have as much opportunity, thusly creating more poverty here.

If immigrants hadn't taken those jobs in first place, people desperate for a source of income would take those jobs. Immigrants take the jobs people don't want, but take the ones people NEED. As in, many people would gladly do those jobs if it gave them money. Just you won't ever picture that scenario because immigrants have had a hold of those jobs for such a long time.

I feel for illegals, I really do, and honestly I'm not 100% when it comes to this topic, but...

they're here illegaly.

And the U.S. is suppose to be a country of immigrants.

It is quite unfair how the last wave of immigrants have closed the door on the new wave, when they should be sympathetic.

All immigrants got here one way through paying for their fees here and/or taking tests on Ellis Island (For example). Now correct me if I'm wrong I don't recall a period in time where people could just walk in here without paying compensation of sorts and become a legal U.S citizen.

But like I said earlier, I understand your point.

The biggest misunderstanding that people have about gaining citizenship is that you just ask for citizenship test and they give it to you. Now a days it is not that simple and allot harder than it use to be and crossing illegally is their only hope of feeding their families.

Really the sad truth is that the U.S. immigration system is horrible

But at least you have an open mind

I can see why people would cross illegally. Just watching the show Border Wars and listening to all of the stories that captured immigrants tell is just so sad. There was this one lady that had come all the way from Brazil and spent $3000 to get to the border, only to be caught. She said that now her house would be foreclosed since she was under a tremendous debt and couldn't pay any of it. Would I try to cross if I was in that situation? Heck yeah, but despite it, it is still creating a huge problem for legal Americans because all of these third-class immigrants are flooding our economy, and taking our jobs. Our jobs should be reserved ONLY for Americans, not for other people. Whether it's sad or not, it is still creating a huge problem for us. I blame the governments more than anything for putting their people through this.

It's not just jobs they get. It's education, licenses, votes, healthcare, tax exemptions and pretty soon amnesty all on the government's dime.

You have to be a citizen to register to vote. Illegals still have to pay sales tax, fees, property tax, cell phone tax, etc. I'm not sure what "amnesty" you're talking about here. Or what healthcare (unless it's emergency room care, and emergency rooms only have to give stabilizing treatment).

It's amazing how you think these excuses actually makes them being illegal permissible. And if you're illegal, you can't pay property tax because you can't be recognized as the owner of property. Not to mention taxes from wages contribute to a very large portion of of the tax flow, so saying they have to pay sales tax doesn't help you whatsoever.

If I hire an illegal immigrant, then I have to pay payroll taxes for them, in jobs that give paychecks. Many low wage jobs (the kind that immigrants take that aren't farming)take taxes out of paychecks automatically.

There are no unwanted jobs.

Illegals displace citizens for low-skill jobs because employers can pay them below minimum wage, something they can't do to legal citizens and immigrants. It's not a matter of them doing "jobs nobody else will," it's a matter of economics.

Most farmers don't pay by the hour, they pay for every unit of food picked.

Again, if citizens were so willing to do these jobs, then why is it that when farmers put out requests, none show up?
Where are you getting farmers from?

Here

And here.
1. Are you saying that picking crops are the only jobs that illegal immigrants are doing?
2. Yet agribusiness leaders say US workers are not accustomed to farm work and would drive up costs by demanding higher pay and benefits. So basically, what I was saying: economics.

Why should someone not allowed be able to travel from one chunk of land to another chunk of land on this planet of ours?

Why shouldn't I be able to walk into your house and eat all your food?

You should, it's natural.

"Illegal immigrants are taking our jobs!" is a regurgitated falsehood floating around these days. They aren't taking your jobs; they're taking the jobs you don't want and doing them better and cheaper than you could do them.

Do you want to pick strawberries in the heat of the summer? I doubt it.
Do you want to wait outside Home Depot for some cheap day labor? Highly unlikely.

Illegals aren't becoming doctors, lawyers, and politicians.
Illegals aren't becoming teachers, cops, and firemen.
Illegals aren't becoming accountants or working in HR.

They're doing the jobs you don't want, so you can aspire to bigger, better things.

What are your thoughts on illegal immigrants?
Lol I never saw it this way

I'd work a field and pick strawberries, but I also want Minimum wage, then again the state dictates that I get paid minimum wage.

Why hire me when there are undocumented workers who will work for cents on the hour?

So, I have to stick with California's 13% unemployment in one of the counties worst hit by the recession. It's k, I don't want to put dollars into the economy anyway, I am content just sitting here sucking air.

It's from right-wing propaganda. Your OT has been known for some time now. Americans are just too dumb to fact seek for themselves.

I agree. America shouldn't be trying to keep these low wage, unskilled labor anyways. We're much better off being able to rise higher.
