Because America has more prisoners than any country in the world. Therefore, an increase in prisoner population equals a decrease in average life quality for the inmates.

Because Norway wants to treat Murderers and -blam!-s humanely?

  • 12.01.2012 7:45 PM PDT

The human element always mucks things up.

More money given to the government=more money wasted by the government.

But due to the amount of prisoners, they usually pay more support them and some prisons are privatized. A lot of money goes into it. But assuming you're correct, why would they make it luxurious even if they could? Wouldn't that be against the point of a prison?

Not true at all, California had to let some prisoners go because they couldn't support to leave all of them in there. Some of them were for minor crimes, without a proper trial, that's beside the point. They don't have to make it luxurious, just have more of them because even murderers still have basic humanitarian rights.

3 hot meals, shelter, a bed, and a toilet, idk how much that's denying any human rights

Luxury hotels with creature comforts =/= human right.

Depends on what the point of a prison is.

Go look at Norway's crime rate and their recidivism rate, you'll stop asking that question.

Everyone shall be treated equally. Why should someone have to spend their time in prison in a disgusting, dirty hell-hole?

Would you not want the prisoners in your country to be comfortable?
