and moving on?

Or for you younger floodians, how do you feel about the thought that all your friends will one day move on and get married?

Just saw that other one of my High School friends got engaged tonight. While I am happy for her, it's a strange feeling. People I've known since I was a freshman in High school, when we were all essentially kids, is not engaged to be married. I's just strange feeling, almost surreal.

How did you guys feel? Happy? Angry? Indifferent? Annoyed?

The human element always mucks things up.

We all wear masks and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing our own skin.

Moving on? We still hang out like we did before. The only annoyance is when the extra baggage gets dragged around when we're going out.

It's sad, but I'll be happy for them too. People move in and out of our lives and we just have to make the most of the time we have with them.

"There's a very fine line between not listening, and not caring. I'd like to think that I walk that line every day."

Ehhh not quite there yet.

Although gathering together the night before a bunch of my old classmates left for their various universities was a nostalgic night.

Kinda the same I'd suppose.

I was the first in my group of friends to tie the knot and have children. It's different, sure, but it doesn't really feel all that different. We still try to get together at least once or twice a month to catch a game and have a drink.

I write poetry, I write short-stories, I listen to hip-hop (80s&90s), Reggae, Classic Rock n Roll, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues, and the 60s, 70s.

Hey, man, if one of us got it, all of us got it.

I'd be happy for them.

Unreal, isn't it?

Dude, you're old.

But really, I don't need to worry about my friends getting married anytime soon I think lol. It'll depend on where I am in life when that starts happening.

It's not so much drifting apart as it is just a strange feeling knowing that the people you essentially grew up with are getting married off.

The drifting apart already happened when many of my friends abandoned this -blam!-hole of a town the first chance they got.
