CGI is the most lifeless area of animation. Have you seen all the CGI movies out? They all look the same, and you can't tell which artist makes which.

Stop motion isn't great either but it's better than that. It also has a more painstaking process and you can tell what artist did what. Nightmare Before Christmas FTW.
Are you trolling?
CGI allows for realistic textures and computer animation.
Lifeless? That is incredibly wrong.

A piece of clay versus the Hulk in the Avengers film.

Practical effects that people can see while they're acting in front of it are far superior to any computer animated program, it's not even debatable.
right, the hulk should be a giant plastic dummy in front of a blue screen. That would looks sooo much better than that lifeless piece of garbage.

Your sarcasm is duly noted.

A bunch of make-up and props can go a long way.

CGI will naturally progress and get better. Stop motion will not.

Looked more organic than the CGI versions.

What I mean is that stop motion is seriously affected by the imperfections of the human hand. Unless you somehow have a robot who precisely moves the props, it will not progress. Meanwhile, rendering 3D computer models only always get better.

CGI can be lifeless if it's done badly.

Compare the Hulk in Ang Lee's movie to the Hulk in the new Avengers movie.

To be fair, Ang Lee's Hulk has the excuse of being a 9-year-old film, where CGI was still prone to being very shoddy.

The Two Towers came out roughly the same time as HULK and Gollum looks 100x better than the Hulk did.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

Good CGI > Stop Motion > Bad CGI

Octavia is best pony.

I prefer CGI, simply because it can produce breathtaking visuals. For example, take Avatar. Ignoring all your gripes about the story and themes of the film, it had amazing CGI. CGI does have the issue of uncanny valley, but it has great amounts of potential. Stop motion is great when used correctly, but it's far more limited.

For me, it's less about the style as it is about the one who makes the film. Good CGI won't make a terrible film great (i.e. Battleship) nor will terrible animation ruin a great film.

I like stop motion because of Wallace & Gromit. Has anyone here seen that episode of iCarly where Spencer spends weeks taking pictures of some clay guys for a stop motion film, and it only ends up being like three seconds long?
