13.72 billion years in the making.

On December 1st, 2012, I met Neil deGrasse Tyson. I shook the man's hand, and even made him laugh. Not much else to do with my life now.

Well supposedly the planets are aligning that day,

No, the assumption (Which is correct, I might add) is that the Earth, the Sun, and the Galactic center will aligned that day. It happens every single December 21st, and it has no significant gravitational effects on the Earth. Nothing will happen.

I think if anything . .

Aliens might reveal their existence to the whole world on the 21st.

I would think they would reveal their existence, interact with humans a lot more then in the past, then decided if the human race is worthy enough to continue to exist.

I think that they have done it before and will do it again.

To better explain my idea . .

I think there is a lot of advanced life in the universe, much more advanced then us.

I think such life would travel the universe looking for other life, and when they come across it, I think they take it upon themselves to set themselves up to be like a god figure and such.

Just like human being's have done . .

More advanced humans in the past always had power over the less advanced humans.

The strong have always had control over the weak.

The Mayan Calendar is so accurate that they do not have a Leap Year, meaning that the world was supposed to end this August.

This.
No.
Huh. You learn something new each day.

It happens every 20,000 years or so . . Not every year.

I think it's actually closer to every 56,000 years, but I'm not positive on that.

Though even still, nothing will happen.

Even the existing Maya don't think anything will happen. The end of the 13th Baktun was supposed to be the beginning of a new age for mankind. Nothing to do with the end of the world, mankind was supposed to enter an age of enlightenment. It was to be a celebration and time of joy.

Every member of the Covenant shall walk the path. None will be left behind when our Great Journey begins. That is the Prophets' age-old promise, and it shall be fulfilled!

It's 2005, bruh.

I don't think it would be the end of the world, but like I said in a earlier post in this thread, I think aliens might make themselves known.

That would count as enlightenment.

I don't see you doing anything to help our country.
Except sitting at home, naked, eating twinkies, rubbing your hands together going "Heh. Target Destroyed. Mission Accomplished." Oh wait. that's not helping.

Seeing as the Mayan calendar is off from ours and December, 21, 2012 in theirs has already passed, I can't say I am. My friend also insists there was some European ruler who again messed with the calendars. If he is right, then apparently it won't happen for another hundred years. Either way it has either already passed or it is a long time coming.
