Subject: Who Here Believes In The 2012 Doomsday Prophecy?

If you're a zombie and you know it, bite your friends.

The Flood Theory of Deterioration: q(p)=(qi)e^(-p/r)

Where q(p) is the quality of the thread as a function of p posts, (qi) is the inital quality of the first post, p is the amount of posts and r is the e-peen of the original poster.

Seeing as the Mayan calendar is off from ours and December, 21, 2012 in theirs has already passed, I can't say I am. My friend also insists there was some European ruler who again messed with the calendars. If he is right, then apparently it won't happen for another hundred years. Either way it has either already passed or it is a long time coming.

None of that is true. The end of the 13th Baktun, and thus the Mayan Calendar's reset to the 1st Baktun, falls on December 21st 2012. They figured out which date in the calendar coincides with which date in ours. So they can't be 'off' from each other like your friend claims.

Think about it, this will be the last predicted apocalypse at least in our life time.
Someone will make one up in the future, but it won't have the 'Mayans' for the backing up.

I'm not mean. I don't troll. I like The Flood.
~08/08/2000~ I'm 11 right now. Please don't let this convey an immature image of me.

I firmly believe in it.

Also, they figured out this date well after the idea of leap years was already a thing, so that excuse is wrong.

Don't believe anything will happen in less than a month, but I know a lot about this.

I will own everyone in Halo: Reach

Well supposedly the planets are aligning that day, and I've heard a few theories, such as the poles changing (quantum physics, don't ask me), or that day will not be the end but just a great change in our lives. Personally I don't think anything will happen that day, but you have to admit the world is really starting to go to -blam!-. Economically, you have the separation of the rich and poor and the decreasing value of the dollar, it's enviable the economy is going to collapse sometime soon. Idk man, maybe not that day but it still freaks me out. I'll personally be staying home that day just in case anything happens though. Better safe than sorry.

Want Coup? Here it is for Chrome.

The mayan calendar does end on December 21, 2012. While leap years are not counted (because it's not needed in their part of the world without seasons), the same amount of days (sunrises) are still there until December 21, 2012.

Leap years =/= more days.

Even so, there have been interviews with the descendants of the Mayan people who confirmed that it's simply the end of the calendar/age/what have you, and they simply didn't last long enough to create a new one.

Does anyone have lotion?
*Raises hand*
Is mayonnaise a lotion?

Should've made a poll to see the overwhelming amount of "no" votes.

A competitive players main goal is to win.
A casuals main goal is to have fun regardless of whether that results in a win or loss.
It has nothing to do with individual skill or knowledge, it has to do with the reason you play.

It only takes a simple question to change everything.

I don't believe the end of the world will happen, but there are those that do, and some of them will perform terrible atrocities against their fellow humans.

I imagine that there will be a great number of crimes committed on that day. I'd like to stay completely away from public on that day, but I have semester finals. To be truthful, I won't be surprised if something awful happens at school on that day.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

My thoughts.
