There are those who said this day would never come. What have they to say now?

I have a Macbook aIR [2012].

I want an external, portable hardrive which I will use as a backup device, and to store large 4GB + files, and all the usual stuff.

Does anyone have any advice on my purchase?

I'm looking at large external drives, im just a little confused as to the formatting of them - and which ones will be compatible with my needs of moving 4Gb + Files and work with my Mac.

Depends what you mean by that. If you need one just get a 1-2TB drive they are fairly cheap and by that I mean around $100 at most. If you want to store some small stuff just get a USB flash drive they are all dirt cheap.

There really is no formatting it is like a USB flash drive. As for compatibility most are compatible with OSX.
