We are all going to get banned aren't we?

Nearly everybody in this thread is overreacting and whining. I never saw anybody complain about call of duty pumping out maps that were actually unneeded every month.

I find it funny that people don't realise these maps were obviously VERY near completion (maybe fully done) before launch and they weren't included.
Clearly not, if 343 had to dedicate a sizeable portion of their team to churning these out in over a month.

Less than that. It takes 2 weeks just to get approved. These would have easily been done if they wanted too, but nope om nom nom cash.
Yknow you could at least try to sound like you know what you're talking about in the slightest.
Haha pathetic trolling by you. 1/10
Haha you think I'm trolling. You've basically just said it takes 2 weeks to make the map pack.

That's because call of duty are known for that, and they do get criticism for it. Halo prides itself on being out with the constant cycle of map pack after map pack. Do you not thinking that it's ruining halo?

Well we definitely need new maps..But doesn't seem like they are adding any small maps, which are needed imo. I'm tired of playing 4v4 on maps where you spend most of the time looking for the enemy. What's the point of making huge maps anyway, when 70% of the space is just deserted?

Most of the time, the maps are made for Spartan Ops and then have been transferred over into MP as simply keeping it easy. Swat on Galileo Base (jut forgot the MP name) is a real pain in the ass with anything but the DMR, and even then it gets redundant.

Just so M$ could get some more cash, i'm not cool with that, it's not how games should be.

You obviously dont fully understand how much work goes into making a map.

Trust me, I am more than aware the amount of time that goes in. However it would appear that these are very similar, and if we take into account the fact the people are saying they were nearly done befor the game launch, why not;

1. Delay the game for extra maps, any community would appreciate that.
2. Delay the map pack and make more diverse maps?

Dont act as if you would have acted differently if you worked for 343. It's a business, not a charity.

I would have prioritised fixing existing problems instead of milking the cash cow as fast as possible.

You say that as if all of 343i collectively works on map packs. They don't. They have dedicated teams managing matchmaking, and then another, unrelated team building the maps who have little say in the actual managing of matchmaking.

You don't seem to have the slightest clue as to how game development works. Admitedly, I barely do, but I at least know enough to understand why certain decision must be made.

- delaying the game= making people angry and potentially losing sales
-more people are not going to buy the game if they release it with 11 maps instead of 9 (guessed irrelevant numbers). They will make more money if they release mappacks later so that they can stay in business and pay all of their workers to make more games. Its the way business works and every company does it.

This.

I also don't think people realise that these maps were not made by 343i, they're made by Certain Affinity.

Except I've yet to see anyone justify this claim with any actual evidence.

They could delay the game for a year so that it ships with 50 maps. It makes far more sense to release the game and then slowly roll out more maps then it does to release the game with a ton of maps and then just never touch it again.

2. Delay the map pack and make more diverse maps?
Like what? Now we're getting into artistic decisions, which is extremely subjective.

I'm going with what they are saying, I don't believe them but it will prevent all the flame wars that could erupt.

Well it's 3 more maps.... Pretty sure that after that they could of released

I'm not going to specify because that would be my view, however alot of people have had the same opinion they look the same. Obviously there is something wrong.

Historically, Halo has restricted people from playing all the playlists if they don't have all the maps. COD does not have this feature, only the slight annoyance of trying to stick together if your party has all different levels of DLC. I for one think it is a load of crap that they are releasing one a month after launch. They could have at least waited until closer to Christmas.

The maps don't really look that good, and it's just Microsoft being money grabbers, not 343. I won't be getting them for a while.

343i is Microsoft though....

Halo is in a new age thus whatever bungie did shouldn't be held to 343. How about you don't buy the DLC until christmas? that solves the problem, though if you just got the map pass to start with you wouldn't really care.

True, but are you telling me that you do not having any issues AT ALL with the fact they are releasing a map pack just over 1 MONTH after launch with 3 SIMILAR maps

I'm fairly certain the policy of restricting playlists was done at the Microsoft level. Furthermore, I think the same thing will be applied to Halo 4. The problem this presents is not solved by waiting, or buying more crap earlier. If you buy a game, you should have access to the features you paid for at all times the game is still played online. Forced DLC purchases are really bad. Might as well just come out and make it full on subscription instead of extorting purchases by locking out content.

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

They barely even showed the maps...

And they don't really look the same. And they aren't described as being similar.
